Dilate (musical Project)
Dilate was an ambient solo project begun in 1996 by composer and synthesizer player Victor Wulf, formerly of the sound collage and industrial music band Vampire Rodents. Wulf released the studio album's ''Cyclos'' and ''Octagon'' for Hypnotic Records in 1996 and 1997 respectively. History Dilate was started by composer Victor Wulf after parting ways with the sound collage project Vampire Rodents in 1993. Wulf had already been began composing since 1977, worked with independent film scoring in Belgium, Canada, Japan, and the United States and performed in Vampire Rodents on the albums '' War Music'' and ''Premonition'', released in 1990 and 1992. Dilate released its debut album ''Cyclos'' in early 1996 for Hypnotic Records, a sublabel of Cleopatra Records. Premonition (Vampire Rodents Album)
''Premonition'' is the second studio album by Vampire Rodents, released on May 19, 1992 by V.R. Productions. The album represented a musical shift for the band with the introduction of string instruments and further influence of classical music in the compositions. The album contains the most writing credits for composer Victor Wulf, who composed the music for five out of its twenty-one tracks. Music The album features a heavy use of sound samples in many songs, which was a very prevalent trend in industrial music at the time. Samples used includes assorted Looney Tunes voice clips, dialogue from the horror film The Exorcist as well as narration from H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds. The album is roughly half compositions containing vocals and half not. The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. The Compact Cassette or Musicassette (MC), also commonly called the tape cassette, cassette tape, audio cassette, or simply tape or cassette, is an analog magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and playback. Daniel Vahnke (born April 2, 1965), sometimes credited as Anton Rathausen, is a Canadian composer and lyricist. He is best known as a co-founding member of Vampire Rodents, a band that integrated elements of classical, ambient, and industrial music into its work. Victor Wulf
Victor Wulf is a Canadian keyboard player and composer. He is recognized for his solo ambient music project Dilate and as a founding member of sound collage band Vampire Rodents. Biography Victor Wulf was involved in composing music for television since 1977. In June 1989, Wulf and Vahnke founded Vampire Rodents, a project that incorporated elements of industrial rock and sound collage. The duo released three albums: '' War Music'' (1990), ''Premonition'' (1992) and '' Lullaby Land'' (1993). During this time, Wulf was primary influenced by Can, Bernard Herrmann, John Zorn and big band music. Wulf became less involved in the writing process with each album and he decided to leave Vampire Rodents after the release of ''Lullaby Land''. Tangerine Dream
Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese having been the only constant member until his death in January 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-1970s trio of Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann. In 1979, Johannes Schmoelling replaced Baumann. Since Froese's death in 2015, the group has been under the leadership of Thorsten Quaeschning (Froese's chosen successor and the current longest-serving band member, having joined in 2005). The Orb
The Orb are an English electronic music group founded in 1988 by Alex Paterson and Jimmy Cauty. Known for their psychedelic sound, the Orb developed a cult following among clubbers "coming down" from drug-induced highs.
