Curling At The 2022 Winter Olympics – Mixed Doubles Tournament
The mixed doubles curling tournament of the 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the Beijing National Aquatics Center from 2 to 8 February 2022. Ten nations competed in a round robin preliminary round, and the top four nations at the conclusion of the round robin (Norway, Italy, Great Britain, and Sweden) qualified for the medal round. This will be the second time mixed doubles is held at the Winter Olympics. Qualification The top seven nations at the 2021 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship qualified along with hosts China. The final two teams qualified through the 2021 Olympic Qualification Event. Beijing National Aquatics Center
The National Aquatics Centre (), and colloquially known as the Water Cube () and the Ice Cube (), is an aquatics center at the Olympic Green in Beijing, China. The facility was originally constructed to host the aquatics competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. During the Olympics — where it hosted diving, swimming and synchronized swimming events — 25 world records were broken in swimming. In July 2010, a renovation of the facility was completed, which included the addition of a public water park. Vicky Persinger
Victoria "Vicky" Persinger (born June 1, 1992) is an American curler from Fairbanks, Alaska. She is a three-time United States Women's National Champion. Career Persinger competed in eight United States Junior Championships, winning gold at her last appearance in 2013. As national champions, they represented the United States at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Östersund, Sweden, where they finished in seventh place with a 4–5 record. Since aging out of juniors, Persinger has medalled at every Women's National Championship she has competed in, six in a row as of 2020. Martin Rios
Martin Rios (born 24 May 1981) is a Spanish-Swiss curler. He competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics in the mixed doubles tournament with partner Jenny Perret, winning a silver medal. He is two-time (2012, 2017) World Mixed Doubles Champion and 2011 European Mixed Champion. At the 2012 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship he was partnered with Nadine Lehmann and at the 2017 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship he was paired with Perret. Jenny Sarah Perret (born 23 December 1991) is a Swiss curler from Lyss. She and partner Martin Rios won the 2017 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. The pair also represented Switzerland at the 2018 Winter Olympics where they won a silver medal. Bruce Mouat
Bruce Mouat (; born 27 August 1994 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish curler. He is an Olympic silver medallist, having skipped Great Britain to a second place finish in the men's team event at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Career Mouat had a very successful junior career, winning two Scottish junior championships in 2015 and 2016. He skipped the Scottish team at the 2015 World Junior Curling Championships, where he led his team of Duncan Menzies, Derrick Sloan and Angus Dowell to a bronze medal. Jennifer Carmichael "Jenn" Dodds (born 1 October 1991) is a Scottish curler. She currently plays mixed doubles with Bruce Mouat, representing Scotland and Great Britain. She is the 2022 Olympic champion in women's curling and the 2022 World champion in mixed doubles curling. Career Dodds played second for the Hannah Fleming junior rink that won a silver medal at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships. Tomáš Paul (born 3 April 1988 in Prague) is a Czech curler. Curling career Men's Playing of Charles University, Paul has played in two Winter Universiades. The first was the 2011 Winter Universiade, where Paul threw second stones for the Czech team, skipped by Lukáš Klíma, winning a bronze medal. He played in the 2013 Winter Universiade as well, with Klíma skipping. They had less success, finishing in 7th place. Zuzana Paulová (born 28 January 1993 as Zuzana Hájková) is a Czech curler. Curling career Women's As a junior curler, Paulová represented the Czech Republic in four World Junior Curling Championships. Her first trip there was the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships throwing lead rocks for Anna Kubešková. The team finished in 8th place. Hájková returned to the World Juniors in 2012, skipping a team of Iveta Janatová, Klára Svatoňová and Eva Málková while throwing third stones. Ling Zhi (; born April 6, 1994) is a Chinese curler from Harbin. Career Ling represented China at the 2014 World Junior Curling Championships, where his team finished in last place with a winless 0–9 record. In 2013 and 2014, he won back-to-back Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships. Ling represented China internationally at the men's level at the third leg of the Curling World Cup event. He played third on Team Ma Xiuyue, which finished with a 1–5 record. In mixed play, Ling competed at the 2017 World Mixed Curling Championship as third for Liu Sijia. Fan Suyuan (; born 1 August 1996) is a Chinese curler from Dunhua. She lives in Beijing. She is competing in the mixed doubles curling event at the 2022 Winter Olympics with Ling Zhi. John C. Morris (born December 16, 1978; nicknamed "Johnny Mo") is a Canadian curler, and two-time Olympic gold medallist from Canmore, Alberta. Morris played third for the Kevin Martin team until April 24, 2013. Morris, author of the book ''Fit to Curl'', is the son of Maureen and Earle Morris, inventor of the "Stabilizer" curling broom.
