Culture Of Slovenia
Among the modes of expression of the culture of Slovenia, a nation-state in Central Europe, are music and dance, literature, visual arts, film, and theatre. A number of festivals take place, showcasing music and literature. Dance Ballet Pino Mlakar and Pia Mlakar were the most notable ballet dancers and members of the Ljubljana Opera and Ballet Company from 1946 to 1960. Pino Mlakar was also a full professor at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film, and Television (AGRFT) of the University of Ljubljana. Modern dance In the 1930s in Ljubljana was founded a Mary Wigman dance school by her student Meta Vidmar. The Punch Festival (in Slovene phonetically also ''Panč festival'') is the most visited stand up comedy festival held in Ljubljana Ljubljana (also known by other historical names) is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. A flower, sometimes known as a bloom or blossom, is the reproductive structure found in flowering plants (plants of the division Angiospermae). The biological function of a flower is to facilitate reproduction, usually by providing a mechanism for the union of sperm with eggs. Flowers may facilitate outcrossing (fusion of sperm and eggs from different individuals in a population) resulting from cross-pollination or allow selfing (fusion of sperm and egg from the same flower) when self-pollination occurs. Kekec's Tricks
''Kekec's Tricks'' ( sl, Kekčeve ukane) is a 1968 Yugoslav/Slovenian adventure film directed by Jože Gale. The film is based on the '' Kekec'' mountain narratives by Josip Vandot, originally published in Slovenian youth magazine Zvonček. It was produced at ''Viba film'' and distributed originally at ''Vesna film'' and currently at ''Viba film''. This is the last of three in the Jože Gale film series about Kekec and has two previous parts: '' Kekec'' from 1951 and '' Good Luck, Kekec (Srečno, Kekec!)'' from 1963. Don't Cry, Peter
''Don't Cry, Peter'' ( sl, Ne joči, Peter), also known as ''Nicht Weinen Peter'', is a 1964 Slovene comedy war adventure film directed by France Štiglic. Released on 17 July 1964, the film was entered in the Third International Film Festival of India (1965) in Delhi, India. The cast included Lojze Rozman, Bert Sotlar, Zlatko Šugman, Majda Potokar, Polde Bibič and Bogdan Lubej as the titular Peter. The story, set during WW II, is about three Partisans entrusted the job of safely taking three children to a liberated area, meeting German soldiers on the way. Plot Dane and Lovro are two mine workers now turned soldiers, in the 2nd Sappers Company of a Partisan Brigade. They bemoan their lack of aggressive war combat as compared to the 1st Sappers. Polde Bibič
Polde Bibič (3 February 1933 – 13 July 2012) was a Slovenian stage and film actor, a writer, and an academic professor, best known for his role in the film '' Flowers in Autumn'' and his work in theater, Bibič was a recipient of several top awards in the field of arts in Slovenia. Life Bibič was born in Maribor. He attended the secondary school in the town and then studied stage plays in Ljubljana under Vida Juvan. He finished his studies in 1961. He first appeared in the film '' Moments of Decision'' (''Trenutki odločitve''; 1955), directed by František Čap. Later, he worked in the Ljubljana Drama Theatre, where he was also the director from 1977 until 1981. He was a professor of theatre at the Ljubljana Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television. He died aged 79 in Ljubljana. Divača
Divača (; it, Divaccia) is a large nucleated village in the Slovenian Littoral, Littoral region of Slovenia, near the Italy, Italian border. It is the seat of the Municipality of Divača and a railway hub. Geography Divača lies along the A1 motorway (Slovenia), A1 motorway and the old main road from Senožeče to Koper, with a junction that also leads to Lokev. The Vremščica Ridge () rises to the northeast, Čebulovica Hill () to the north, and Kožlek Hill () to the west. Tilled fields mostly lie to the northeast, and pastures to the northwest and southwest. Tamara Đorđević (born Italina Lida Kravanja; 7 July 1907 – 10 May 1979), known professionally as Ita Rina, was a Slovenian film actress and beauty queen. She was one of the major film stars in Germany and Czechoslovakia in the late 1920s and the early 1930s. Rina retired from her career shortly after her wedding in 1931, when she changed her religion from Roman Catholic to Serbian Orthodox and her name to Tamara Đorđević.
