Cuggiono
Cuggiono ( lmo, Cugiònn ) is a small Italian town and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Milan, west of Milan on the Motorway A4 to Turin, gate of Marcallo-Mesero. American baseball player Yogi Berra's parents were from there. Italian singer and composer Angelo Branduardi was born there. Cuggiono is the sister city of Herrin, Illinois. Many Italians from Cuggiono, emigrated to Southern Illinois to work in the coal mines with hopes of the American Dream in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They formed neighborhoods in towns throughout Southern Illinois. Herrin, Illinois
Herrin is a city in Williamson County, Illinois. The population was 12,352 at the 2020 census. The city is part of the Marion-Herrin Micropolitan Area and is a part of the Carbondale-Marion-Herrin, Illinois Combined Statistical Area with 123,272 residents, the sixth most populous Combined statistical area in Illinois. Bernate Ticino (Milanese: , locally ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Milan in the northern Italian region Lombardy, located about west of Milan. Angelo Branduardi
Angelo Branduardi (born 12 February 1950) is an Italian folk/folk rock singer-songwriter and composer who scored relative success in Italy and European countries such as France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Greece. Biography Branduardi was born in Cuggiono, a small town in the province of Milan, but early moved with the family to Genoa. He was educated as a classical violinist in the Genoa music conservatory, Niccolò Paganini. At the age of 18, he composed the music for the ''Confessioni di un malandrino'' (''Hooligan's Confession'') by Sergei Yesenin. He is married to Luisa Zappa, who wrote the lyrics for many of his songs. They have two daughters, Sarah and Maddalena, both musicians. Galliate is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Novara in the Italian region Piedmont, located about northeast of Turin, about northwest Milan and about northeast of Novara.
