Crutchfield is an unincorporated community along the Yadkin River in the Marsh Township of Surry County, North Carolina, United States . Overview The community, situated across the Yadkin River just north of Boonville, was a stop on the former Southern Railway, now used by the Yadkin Valley Railroad. Yadkin River
The Yadkin River is one of the longest rivers in North Carolina, flowing . It rises in the northwestern portion of the state near the Blue Ridge Parkway's Thunder Hill Overlook. Several parts of the river are impounded by dams for water, power, and flood control. The river becomes the Pee Dee River at the confluence of the Uwharrie River south of the community of Badin and east of the town of Albemarle. The river then flows into South Carolina near Cheraw, which is at the Fall Line. The entirety of the Yadkin River and the Great Pee Dee River is part of the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin. Surry County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 71,359. Its county seat is Dobson, and its largest city is Mount Airy. Boonville, North Carolina
Boonville is a town in Yadkin County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,222 at the 2010 census. History Boonville was named for Daniel Boone. A post office has been in operation in Boonville since 1857. The town was incorporated by the NC Legislature on February 19, 1895. Boonville Community Volunteer Fire Department The Boonville Community Volunteer Fire Department was organized in 1941 with Harvey Smith serving as its first Chief. The former fire department building has since been named the Harvey E Smith Municipal Building and now houses the police station and meeting space for the town council. A trestle bridge is a bridge composed of a number of short spans supported by closely spaced frames.
