''Prosciutto crudo'', in English often shortened to prosciutto ( , ), is Italian uncooked, unsmoked, and dry-cured ham. ''Prosciutto crudo'' is usually served thinly sliced. Several regions in Italy have their own variations of ''prosciutto crudo'', each with degrees of protected status, but the most prized are Prosciutto di Parma DOP from Emilia-Romagna and Prosciutto di San Daniele DOP from Friuli Venezia Giulia. Unlike Speck (Speck Alto Adige PGI) from the South Tyrol region, prosciutto is not smoked. The 1988 Toronto municipal election was held to elect members of municipal councils, school boards, and hydro commissions in the six municipalities that made up Metropolitan Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The election was held November 14, 1988. This election also marked the abolition of Boards of Control in North York, Etobicoke, Scarborough, and York. Richard Crudo, A.S.C. is an American cinematographer and director. He is a 6-term past-president of the American Society of Cinematographers. Life and career Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, cinematographer\director Richard Crudo, ASC's lengthy resume includes such notable feature credits as American Buffalo, Outside Providence, American Pie, Down To Earth, Out Cold, Grind and Brooklyn Rules. Anthony "Tony" John Crudo (born March 25, 1959 in Seattle, Washington) is a former U.S. soccer defender who spent five seasons in the North American Soccer League. He also earned seven caps with the U.S. national team between 1979 and 1982. Youth In 1968 played for Federal Way Boys Club. In 1969 moved to Shoreline and played for Lake City Blue Barons (coached by his dad Ray Crudo). Crudo attended Shorecrest High School in Shoreline, Washington, where he was a member of the school's 1976 state championship soccer team. NASL Crudo signed with the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League (NASL) in the fall of 1977. Los Crudos is an American hardcore punk band from Chicago, Illinois active from 1991 to 1998 and from 2006 onward. Comprising all Latino members, the band paved the way for later Spanish-speaking punk bands in the United States and helped to increase the presence of Latinos in the country's predominantly white punk subculture. Los Crudos express a left-wing political critique of issues affecting Latin America and the Latino community, such as U.S. imperialism, racism, xenophobia, and economic inequality. ''Crudo'' is a 2018 novel by Olivia Laing. The book, Laing's first novel, incorporates autobiographical elements and details from the life of American author Kathy Acker. The novel was well-received, winning the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Composition and writing Laing originally did not intend to publish the book, saying she was "writing it for herself". She has referred to the book as an "experiment", and in order to " ..smash the mold of the kind of book she might be expected to produce". While writing the book, Laing followed two rules: that she had to write daily, and that she could not " ..edit or reshape the material". She wrote the book "in a frenzy" over a period of six weeks. She included news events, mostly drawn from her Twitter feed, as they occurred during the days she was writing.
