Croatia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2007
Croatia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Vjerujem u ljubav" written by Dado Topić. The song was performed by the band Dragonfly featuring Dado Topić. The Croatian broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) organised the national final ''Dora 2007'' to select the Croatian entry for the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. Thirty-two entries competed in the national final which consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. Eight entries qualified from each semi-final on 1 and 2 March 2007 to compete in the final on 3 March 2007. In the final, "Vjerujem u ljubav" performed by Dragonfly featuring Dado Topić was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from a five-member jury panel and a public televote. Opatija
Opatija (; it, Abbazia; german: Sankt Jakobi) is a town and a municipality in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in western Croatia. The traditional seaside resort on the Kvarner Gulf is known for its Mediterranean climate and its historic buildings reminiscent of the Austrian Riviera. Anja Šovagović-Despot
Anja Šovagović-Despot (born 25 March 1963) is a Croatian film and stage actress. Early life and career Šovagović-Despot was born to the family of Fabijan Šovagović, one of the most respected Croatian actors, and Maja Blaškov. Same as her younger brother, Filip, she pursued the acting career from an early age. After high school she enrolled in the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art. There, together with theatre director Krešimir Dolenčić, she founded the "Lift" theatre group in 1981. Two years later she joined Zlatko Vitez and his "Histrion" theatre company. In 1986 she finally settled down in Gavella Drama Theatre. Personal life Šovagović-Despot is married to Croatian actor, Dragan Despot. The couple has two children. Marko Tomasović (born 18 May 1976) is a Croatian composer and songwriter. He composed and wrote more than 300 songs. His work has covered various genres. Marko is a member of Croatian Composers' Society, and he was listed as one of the 10 most performed authors in Croatia in 2004. Early life and career He was born on 18 May 1976 in Zagreb, Croatia where he lived most of his life. He grew up listening to artist like Roxette, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Scorpions and Cher. In 1994, Ladislav Račić gave him a chance to teach music on Rock Academia in Zagreb. Two years later, he had additional training with Professor Vanja Lisak. Alen Vitasović
Alen Vitasović (born 5 July 1968) is a Croatian pop singer and songwriter. Born in Pula, many of his songs are about his native Istria and mostly written in Chakavian dialect. Vitasović began his music career early, learning how to play the harmonica at the age of five, and by twelve he was singing in bands, mainly in the tourist regions around Istria. After finishing music school in Pula, where he learned to play the piano and saxophone, he continued to play in bands across Croatia and Slovenia, until he was discovered while working at Radio HR Pula in the early 1990s. Giuliano Đanić
Giuliano Đanić (born 14 May 1973), known professionally as Giuliano, is a Croatian pop singer. Music career In mid 1988, Giuliano, along with Siniša Vuco, formed the rock band Kleopatra. The band released three singles "Odlazim", "Hladna noć", and "Svi u jedan glas". The band broke up in late 1989. After the break up of Kleopatra, Đanić, along with Zlatko Brodarić, formed the band Apokalipsa. The band's debut album ''Ljubav za ljubav, bol za bol'' was released in 1991. Barbara Munjas
Barbara Munjas (born 7 December 1988) is a Croatian singer and songwriter. She is most known as the lead vocalist lyricist for the rock band Barbari and former vocalist of the group Gustafi. Munjas began to establish herself as a solo artist with the release of the single "Men" in 2018. In March 2022, Munjas released her debut album ''Right Place & Right Time'' through Aquarius Records. Feminnem
Feminnem is a girl group from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina composed of three members. They represented both countries at the Eurovision Song Contest; Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2005 (with original members Ivana Marić, Neda Parmać and Pamela Ramljak) and Croatia in 2010 (when the group consisted of Nika Antolos, Parmać and Ramljak). On 21 February 2012 Pamela, Neda and Nika decided to start solo careers and leave Feminnem and effectively disbanded the group. They were named after American rapper Eminem. Claudia Beni (born 30 May 1986) is a Croatian pop singer, born in Opatija. Biography At the time when she first participated in Dora, the national finals for the Eurovision Song Contest, Claudia was only 12, but she was already an experienced band singer having performed all over Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Montenegro with the Teens - formerly known as Mići rokeri (Little Rockers). Croatia selected its entry for the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest through the "Dora 2000" national contest, which was organised by the Croatian national broadcaster Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT). The winner was Goran Karan with "Kad zaspu anđeli". Before Eurovision Dora 2000 The national contest was held on 19 February 2000 in Opatija, which consisted of a televised final with 26 songs.
