Michele Massimo Tarantini
Michele Massimo Tarantini (born 7 August 1942) is an Italian film director. Life and career Born in Corato, Bari, at young age Tarantini was assumed by the production company Dania Cinematografica, for which he held various positions including secretary of production, set designer, film editor and assistant director for Sergio Martino, Giuliano Carnimeo, Nando Cicero and Mariano Laurenti. Tarantini made his directorial debut in 1973 with a giallo-crime film, ''Seven Hours of Violence'', but his first commercial success was the 1975 Commedia sexy all'italiana, sexy comedy ''La liceale'', which launched the career of Gloria Guida. Since then, Tarantini became one of the prominent and most successful directors in the commedia sexy all'italiana film genre. In 1983 Tarantini moved to Brazil, where he kept directing low-budget genre films, often under the stage name Michael E. Lemick. His last film is the 2001 comedy ''Se lo fai sono guai''. Poliziotteschi (; singular ''poliziottesco'') constitute a subgenre of crime and action films that emerged in Italy in the late 1960s and reached the height of their popularity in the 1970s. They are also known as ''polizieschi all'italiana'', ''Euro-crime'', ''Italo-crime'', ''spaghetti crime films'', or simply ''Italian crime films''. Influenced by both 1970s French crime films and gritty 1960s and 1970s American cop films and vigilante films, poliziotteschi films were made amidst an atmosphere of socio-political turmoil in Italy known as Years of Lead and increasing Italian crime rates. The films generally featured graphic and brutal violence, organized crime, car chases, vigilantism, heists, gunfights, and corruption up to the highest levels. Silvia Dionisio
Silvia Dionisio (born 28 September 1951) is an Italian actress who appeared in several movies in the 1970s. Born in Rome, Dionisio made her debut in the world of cinema when she was only 14 years old in the movie ''Darling''. Her career followed with parts in mediocre musical Italian movies, along with singers like Mario Tessuto, Gianni Dei, Little Tony and Mal. On the set of one of these movies she met director Ruggero Deodato, who became her husband. They had a son, Saverio Deodato-Dionisio, who worked as an actor. In 1970, she played in '' A Girl Called Jules'', a semi-erotic film with several non-nude scenes portraying lesbian sex. She also co-starred in ''The Young, the Evil and the Savage'' (1968) and Andy Warhol's ''Blood for Dracula''. Ettore Manni (6 May 1927 – 27 July 1979) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in more than 100 films between 1952 and 1979. Life and career Born in Rome, Manni debuted as an actor in 1952, when in spite of his acting inexperience he was chosen by Luigi Comencini for the main role in '' La tratta delle bianche''. Following the success of the film Manni interrupted his university studies and started appearing in a significant number of films of any genre, becoming in a short time one of the most popular actors in the Italian cinema. As his fame declined in the 1960s, Manni appeared mainly in Spaghetti Western and peplum films, but he also took part to several international productions, including films by Delmer Daves and Tony Richardson. His last role was Katzone in Federico Fellini's ''City of Women''. He died in Rome, aged 52, after accidentally shooting himself. The lira (; plural lire) was the currency of Italy between 1861 and 2002. It was first introduced by the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy in 1807 at par with the French franc, and was subsequently adopted by the different states that would eventually form the Kingdom of Italy in 1861.
