Crest House
The Mount Evans Crest House is a building, now in ruins, located at the summit of Mount Evans in Colorado. It is notable for both its significant architectural design and its unusual location. Built at the terminus of the Mount Evans Scenic Byway, it was the highest business structure in the United States. Constructed between 1940 and 1941, it served as a restaurant, gift shop and tourist attraction until it was partially destroyed by a fire in 1979. History Inspired by his first visit to Mount Evans in the 1920s, carpenter and German immigrant Justus "Gus" Roehling dreamed of constructing a "Castle in the Sky" for his then girlfriend (and future wife) Edith. Pikes Peak
Pikes Peak is the List of mountain ranges of Colorado#Mountain ranges, highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in North America. The Ultra-prominent peak, ultra-prominent fourteener is located in Pike National Forest, west of downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. Idaho Springs, Colorado
The City of Idaho Springs is the Statutory City that is the most populous municipality in Clear Creek County, Colorado, United States. Idaho Springs is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,717. Idaho Springs is located in Clear Creek Canyon, in the mountains upstream from Golden, some west of Denver. Propane () is a three-carbon alkane with the molecular formula . It is a gas at standard temperature and pressure, but compressible to a transportable liquid. James Quigg Newton Jr. (August 3, 1911 – April 4, 2003) was an American lawyer and politician who served as the mayor of Denver, Colorado from 1947 to 1955. Newton was born in Denver; his father was a businessman there. Newton was educated in Denver and then studied at Yale Law School. He worked for the Denver law firm of Lewis & Grant before founding his own law firm. His firm merged with Lewis & Grant in 1947 to form Lewis, Grant, Newton, Davis & Henry, which later became Lewis, Grant & Davis, and then Davis Graham & Stubbs. His colleague and Yale classmate Richard Davis married his sister Nancy. Newton served as a legal officer in the US Navy in the Second World War. He married Virginia Shafroth in 1942; she was the granddaughter of John F. Shafroth who served as US Senator and Governor of Colorado. They had four daughters.
