Creedle
Creedle is an American rock band based in San Diego, California. They are most known for their three full length albums released on Cargo Music/Headhunter Records in the 1990s, along with numerous 7-inch singles. The band was primarily composed of Devon E. Levins a.k.a. Devon Goldberg (guitar/vocals), PieBoy a.k.a. Tim Blankenship (bass/vocals), Dr. Gein a.k.a. Dion Thurman (drums), Stretch a.k.a. Robert Walter (keyboards and samples) and Cheme a.k.a. Cochemea Gastelum (saxophone). Creedle was formed after the nearly simultaneous break ups of San Diego bands The Pull Toys, Daddy Long Legs, Holy Love Snakes and If Tomorrow. Half Man Half Pie, Creedle's first album, was recorded and mixed by Donnell Cameron at Westbeach Recorders in Hollywood, California. The artwork was created by Fip Buchanan. Robert Walter (musician)
Robert Walter is an American keyboard player specializing in soul jazz on the Hammond B3 organ and Fender Rhodes. He is best known as a founding member of The Greyboy Allstars. Biography A founding member of The Greyboy Allstars, Walter, splits his time between The Greyboy Allstars, his own 20th Congress, and a robust film soundtrack career in Los Angeles. After starting on piano, Robert developed a deep connection with the Hammond organ and its place in American musical tradition. Gospel, Jazz, soul music and psychedelic rock have all been impacted and defined by the classic grind and warble of the B3 and Leslie speaker. Pierre De Gaillande
Pierre de Gaillande is a French-born American singer, guitarist and composer. In the early 1990s, de Gaillande played trumpet in San Diego hardcore band Creedle, bass in New York power pop bands The Morning Glories and southern California indie band Film Star, as well as touring and recording with Atlantic recording artist C. Gibbs. He founded the band Melomane in 1998 as guitarist and lead singer. Melomane made three full-length studio albums and toured extensively in Europe. De Gaillande founded the band Sea Foxx in 2003, which featured former Skeleton Key drummer Steve Calhoon. De Gaillande was one of two founding members of the rock band The Snow, along with singer/pianist Hilary Downes. Pretendo is a New York City-based indie rock band formed in 2004 of ex-/present members of Enon, Skeleton Key, Creedle, The Rugburns, Mono Puff, Morricone Youth, Little Jack Melody and The DaoSon For. The Casbah (US Music Venue)
The Casbah is a nightclub and music venue located near downtown San Diego, California. History The Casbah was first opened in 1989 by Tim Mays, Bob Bennett and Peter English at the site of a former Irish pub at 2812 Kettner Boulevard. The three men also owned the now-defunct Pink Panther Club. The Casbah hosted San Diego bands such as Rocket from the Crypt, Lucy's Fur Coat, Trumans Water, Three Mile Pilot, Creedle, Heavy Vegetable, Fluf, Inch, Crash Worship and Deadbolt. It also hosted bands such as Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins. English later left the venture. Because the original site had a maximum occupancy of 75 people, in 1994 the Casbah moved to a larger facility at 2501 Kettner Boulevard, the site of former club "Bulc". Manual Scan
Manual Scan was an American mod and power pop group from San Diego, active between 1981 and 1991. Manual Scan released numerous CDs, LPs and 7-inch singles, in England, Spain and the US. They toured in the US, England (including a 1986 appearance at the 100 Club in London), and Mexico. The group's song "Nothing Can Be Everything" was included in the 1990 Columbia Pictures release, ''A Girl To Kill For''.
