Craig Crawford (politician)
Craig Daryl Crawford (born 17 January 1970) is an Australian politician currently serving as the Queensland Minister for Seniors and Disability Services and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships. He has been the Australian Labor Party (Queensland Branch), Labor member for the Far North Queensland seat of Electoral district of Barron River, Barron River in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since 2015. Career Crawford began his professional career working in hotel management. During his 20 years of voluntary service to the Victorian Country Fire Authority, he was promoted to the rank of captain and selected to be an ambulance paramedic. He went on to work for both Ambulance Victoria and the Queensland Ambulance Service respectively for over 15 years. He has a Diploma of Ambulance Paramedic Studies and a Certificate IV in Fire Technology. Ambulance Victoria
Ambulance Victoria (AV), a Victorian agency of the Department of Health and Human Services, is the statutory provider of pre-hospital emergency care and ambulance services in Victoria. Ambulance Victoria was formed on 1 July 2008 with the merger of the Metropolitan Ambulance Service (MAS), Rural Ambulance Victoria (RAV), and the Alexandra District Ambulance Service (ADAS). Ambulance Victoria has undergone significant reform since 2008. Ambulance Victoria provides emergency medical response to more than 5.9 million people in an area of more than 227,000 square kilometres. During 2015–2016, Ambulance Victoria responded to 843,051 cases. In 2016, it was announced that 450 extra paramedics would be employed. The service is funded by fees for the cost of transport and treatment by paramedics. Members are entitled to free services. Parliament House in Brisbane is the meeting place of the Parliament of Queensland, housing its only chamber, the Legislative Assembly. It is located on the corner of George Street and Alice Street at Gardens Point in the CBD, and is next to the Queensland University of Technology and City Botanic Gardens.
