Cover System
A cover system is a video game gameplay mechanic that allows a virtual avatar to hide from and avoid dangers, usually in a three-dimensional world. This method is a digital adaptation of the real-life military tactic of taking cover behind obstacles, for purposes of attaining protection from enemy ranged or area effect attacks, such as gunfire or explosions. Definition In gaming, a cover system lets a player character use stationary or moving obstacles to avoid damage. To be considered a cover system, there must be some physical interaction with the source of cover and the avatar. This means moving to stand in a position behind an object, as in traditional shooter games, while strictly speaking would be classified as "taking cover", does not qualify as an actual cover system in terms of video game mechanics. ''Rolling Thunder 3'' is a 1993 run and gun shooter video game published by Namco released for the Sega Genesis. It is the third and final game in the ''Rolling Thunder'' series after '' Rolling Thunder'' and '' Rolling Thunder 2''. The game was made specifically for the Genesis, unlike the previous two games in the series. Also unlike its predecessors, ''Rolling Thunder 3'' was released only in North America. Rolling Thunder 2
is a run and gun arcade game developed and released by Namco for the Namco System 2 hardware in 1991. The game is the sequel to 1986's '' Rolling Thunder'', retaining the same gameplay of its predecessor but adding cooperative gameplay for two players and improved graphics. Unlike the original, which was based in 1968, ''Rolling Thunder 2'' features a more contemporary setting to go along with its more futuristic design, as well as an optionally playable female character. A port for the Sega Genesis was released the same year. Argus Press was a British publishing company. It was acquired by British Electric Traction (BET) in 1966, and became the publishing arm of that company.
