Coupletist
A coupletist (kupletist) is a poet, singer, or actor who specializes in couplets – wittily ambiguous, political, or satirical songs, usually in cabaret settings, usually with refrains, generally used as a transition between two cabaret numbers. With sarcasm and humor, coupletists take on political dignitaries, the prevailing zeitgeist and lifestyle, in short, "all of the world's madness." Friedrich Wolf called the couplet "the direct involvement of the audience in the game." Nellie Casman
Nellie Casman (1896–1984) was an American actress and singer in Yiddish theater. She was born in Proskurov, Russia, and moved to the United States in the early 1900s. Veniamin Nechayev (russian: Вениамин Нечаев; 20 March 1915 – 15 August 1987) was a Soviet musician (guitarist) and film actor, the member of the estrada duet of Nechayev & Rudakov, which was popular in the 1950s. He was the Merited Artist of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (1961). Early life Veniamin Nechayev was born in Novonikolayevsk on 20 March 1915. He graduated from music school. Duet
A duet is a musical composition for two performers in which the performers have equal importance to the piece, often a composition involving two singers or two pianists. It differs from a harmony, as the performers take turns performing a solo section rather than performing simultaneously. Constantin Tănase (; 5 July 1880 – 29 August 1945) was a Romanian actor and writer for stage, a key figure in the revue style of theater in Romania. Life He was born into a working-class family living in a peasant house in Vaslui, Romania. An adequate but unexceptional student (although he did apparently learn good German), his first exposure to the stage was by attending plays at "Pârjoala" garden, where he saw popular theater, including actors such as Zaharia Burienescu and I.D. Shloyme Prizament (1889-1973) (also Shlomo or Szlojme Prizament or Szlomo Prizment), Jewish composer, actor in the Yiddish theater, and '' badkhn'', son of Moyshe Prizament (a famous badkhn known as Moyshe Hibiner / Hibnever).
