Route description CR 538 begins at an intersection with CR 551 in Swedesboro, Gloucester County, heading southeast on two-lane undivided Glen Echo Avenue through residential areas. The route enters Woolwich Township and forks to the left onto Swedesboro Road, passing over the New Jersey Turnpike. The road continues into a mix of farmland and woodland, intersecting CR 614 before crossing into South Harrison Township. Route 45 is a state highway in the southern part of New Jersey. It runs from Route 49 in Salem, Salem County, northeast to U.S. Route 130 (US 130) in Westville, Gloucester County. Much of the southern part of the route runs through rural areas of Salem and Gloucester counties, passing through the communities of Woodstown and Mullica Hill. The Vineland Secondary is a rail line owned, operated and maintained by Conrail Shared Assets Operations for the use of CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Railway. It begins at Pavonia Yard in Camden and heads south, with a spur serving the Port of Camden. Conrail Shared Assets Operations (CSAO) is the commonly used name for modern-day Conrail (reporting mark CRCX), an American railroad company. It operates three networks, the North Jersey, South Jersey/Philadelphia, and Detroit Shared Assets Areas, where it serves as a contract local carrier and switching company for its owners, CSX Transportation and the Norfolk Southern Railway. When most of the former Conrail's track was split between these two railroads, the three shared assets areas (a total of about 1,200 miles of track) were kept separate to avoid giving one railroad an advantage in those areas. Route 77 is a state highway in the southern part of the U.S. state of New Jersey. It runs from an intersection with Route 49 in Bridgeton in Cumberland County north to a junction with Route 45 in Mullica Hill in Gloucester County. It is a mostly two-lane, undivided road traversing through farmland in Cumberland, Salem, and Gloucester Counties. Along the way, Route 77 intersects Route 56 in Upper Deerfield Township and U.S. Route 40 (US 40) in Upper Pittsgrove Township. Prior to 1927, the route was a branch of pre-1927 Route 6 that ran from Bridgeton to Mullica Hill.
