Cottbus
Cottbus (; Lower Sorbian: ''Chóśebuz'' ; Polish: Chociebuż) is a university city and the second-largest city in Brandenburg, Germany. Situated around southeast of Berlin, on the River Spree, Cottbus is also a major railway junction with extensive sidings/depots. Although only a small Sorbian minority lives in Cottbus itself, the city is considered as the political and cultural center of the Sorbs in Lower Lusatia. Neuhausen/Spree ( dsb, Kopańce) is a municipality in the district of Spree-Neiße, in Lower Lusatia, Brandenburg, Germany. History From 1815 to 1947, Neuhausen was part of the Prussian Province of Brandenburg. After World War II, Neuhausen was incorporated into the State of Brandenburg from 1947 to 1952 and the Bezirk Cottbus of East Germany from 1952 to 1990.
