Costa Del Maresme
The Costa del Maresme is a section of the Catalan coast that coincides with the coast of the Maresme region and covers a total of sixteen municipalities from Montgat to the mouth of the Tordera (Malgrat de Mar). It is bordered on the north by the Costa Brava and on the south by the Costa de Barcelona. The Costa del Maresme stretches between the Mediterranean Sea and the Catalan Coastal Range, which protects it from the north winds. The Costa del Maresme has extensive beaches, fishing villages and towns with a long history of tourism. Characterized by its mild climate and its Mediterranean landscape, it is a residential and tourist area that in recent decades has hosted many people from cities who have moved their first residence to the coast. The region has five marinas and fishing activity is mainly concentrated in and around Arenys de Mar. Beach
A beach is a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose particles. The particles composing a beach are typically made from rock, such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles, etc., or biological sources, such as mollusc shells or coralline algae. Sediments settle in different densities and structures, depending on the local wave action and weather, creating different textures, colors and gradients or layers of material. Though some beaches form on inland freshwater locations such as lakes and rivers, most beaches are in coastal areas where wave or current action deposits and reworks sediments. Erosion and changing of beach geologies happens through natural processes, like wave action and extreme weather events. Where wind conditions are correct, beaches can be backed by coastal dunes which offer protection and regeneration for the beach. Premià De Mar
Premià de Mar () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Maresme in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the coast between El Masnou and Vilassar de Mar, to the north-east of Barcelona. The town is both a tourist centre and a dormitory town for Barcelona. Sant Andreu De Llavaneres
Sant Andreu de Llavaneres () is a municipality located 36 km north of Barcelona (Catalonia) (Spain), along the Mediterranean coast, between Mataró and Sant Vicenç de Montalt. Mataró
Mataró () is the capital and largest town of the ''comarca'' of the Maresme, in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia Autonomous Community, Spain. Cabrera de Mar () is a municipality of the ''comarca'' of Maresme in Catalonia, Spain. It is located next to the Català mediterranean coast, between the municipalities of Vilassar de Mar and Mataró, although the urban centre is at about inland, in a small valley between the hills of Burriac (where the remains of the Sant Vicenç de Burriac castle are located) and Montcabrer.
