Corporation (nightclub)
Corporation, often referred to as Corp by locals, is an independent live music venue and nightclub located in the city centre of Sheffield, England. In addition to hosting live music from touring bands, Corporation hosts club nights which play a variety of alternative, pop and rock music. Overview Layout Corporation is located in the Devonshire Quarter of Sheffield City Centre. The club features three floors containing six bars spread across four rooms: the main arena, small arena, upstairs, and The Local Authority. The upstairs room is opened only during club nights and has a balcony overlooking the lower room's dance floor. The Local Authority was established as an additional room in 2013 and is opened on club nights as an extension to the main club and serves on non-club nights as a "mini club". Saul Hudson (born July 23, 1965), better known as Slash, is a British-American musician who is best known as the lead guitarist of the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Slash has received critical acclaim and is considered one of the greatest guitarists in history. Born in Hampstead, London, Slash moved to Los Angeles with his father when he was five years old. The Leadmill
The Leadmill is the longest running live music venue and nightclub in Sheffield, England, based on Leadmill Road, lying on the southeast edge of the city centre. It opened in 1980 in a former flour mill, originally a Community Centre. The venue has hosted live music, comedians, theatre productions, record fairs, cabaret, drag, and talks. History The Leadmill first opened in 1980 in the building that previously housed the Esquire, a 1960s club that had hosted gigs by Jimi Hendrix and Small Faces. The Esquire was housed in one of the upper floors of the building that is now occupied by the box office. Resistanz Festival
Brainchild of Sheffield promoter Leighton, Resistanz is an industrial music festival running since 2011 over the Easter weekend, at the Corporation venue in Sheffield, United Kingdom. Held annually until 2016, the event was due to take place in 2020 but has been rescheduled for 2022 due to Coronavirus. The festival primarily features alternative electronic music acts including industrial, EBM, futurepop, synthpop and power noise. Soulfly is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1997, and later based out of Phoenix, Arizona. The Devonshire Quarter is an area in the centre of Sheffield, England. Its heart is the Division Street and Devonshire Street shopping areas, known for their small independent shops and variety of pubs and bars.
