Corpet-Louvet
Corpet-Louvet was a steam locomotive manufacturer based in Paris, France. History Founded in 1855 as Anjubault, based in the Avenue Phillippe-Auguste in Paris, the firm was taken over by Lucien Corpet in 1868. Corpet's daughter Marguerite married Lucien Louvet, the engineer of the '' Compagnie Meusienne des Chemins de Fer'', which used Corpet locomotives. Corpet died in 1889, and the management of the firm was taken over by Louvet. In 1912, the firm moved to new premises at La Corneuve, and a limited liability company, Corpet, Louvet et Compagnie was formed. The last steam locomotive was built in 1953, but the company is still in business, manufacturing "Caterpillar" earth moving equipment under licence. } The Compagnie Meusienne de Chemins de Fer (colloquially Le Meusien) operated from 1888 to 1922 a long metre gauge () rail network in the France, French Departments of France, Département Meuse (department), Meuse. Its most westerly branch was built by the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer d'Intérêt Local de la Meuse and commissioned section by section since 1878. The Chemin de fer du Cambrésis was a long metre gauge railway in the Nord and Aisne departments of France. There were four lines with Caudry at the centre. History The Cambrésis railway opened in 1881. It was a ''voies ferrées d'intérêt local'' system. From Caudry, lines ran to Cambrai in the north, Denain in the east, Catillon in the south, and St. Quentin Cambrésis in the west. The first section of line to open was the section from Cambrai to Le Cateau in 1881, this was extended by to Catillon in 1886. In 1887, a branch from Caudry to Villers-Outréaux was opened, extended by to Le Catelet-Gouy in 1888. The line from Caudry to Denain opened in 1891. Statfold Barn Railway
The Statfold Barn Railway is a narrow gauge railway based near Tamworth, Staffordshire and partially in Warwickshire, England. Founded by engineering entrepreneur Graham Lee and his wife Carol at their farm-based home, they originally designed what is still termed the garden railway, in which Graham could run his trains and Carol could design an extensive English country garden around a lake. Graham Lee chaired the family-owned Wabtec, LH Group, with its main focus on railway engineering services. After LH Group acquired what remained of the Hunslet Engine Company in 2005, Graham pursued the opportunity to acquire the last steam locomotive built by Hunslet. The valve gear of a steam engine is the mechanism that operates the inlet and exhaust valves to admit steam into the cylinder and allow exhaust steam to escape, respectively, at the correct points in the cycle. It can also serve as a reversing gear. It is sometimes referred to as the "motion". Statfold is a former village in Staffordshire, England, about north-east of Tamworth. Population details as taken at the 2011 census can be found under Clifton Campville. These days little remains of the village itself, but the Norman parish church, and the Tudor manor house of ''Statfold Hall'' still exist, as do a few scattered farms and houses.
