Copper Mountain (film)
''Copper Mountain (a Club Med Experience)'' (also known as just ''Copper Mountain'') is a 1983 Canadian comedy film written and directed by Damian Lee and David Mitchell. Starring Jim Carrey and Alan Thicke, it is a quasi-commercial for the now-closed Club Med ski resort in Copper Mountain, Colorado. The majority of the runtime consists of interspersed performances by prominent country and rhythm and blues musicians, such as Ronnie Hawkins, Rita Coolidge and Chicago frontman Bill Champlin, with whom accomplished song writer Thicke co-wrote the popular song "Sara". Plot Two friends, Bobby Todd (Carrey) and Jackson Reach (Thicke), travel from their hometown of Grimsby to the Club Med village in Copper Mountain. Jackson intends to hit the slopes and ski, while Bobby attempts to seduce women with impressions and routines. Tamara Champlin (née Matoesian) is an American singer-songwriter who started her career as a session singer in Houston, Texas, later moving to Los Angeles. Michael Utley
Michael Edward Utley is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer for Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. He is the musical director of the band. Born in Blytheville in Mississippi County, Arkansas, he graduated from the University of Arkansas where he was initiated into the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was recognized by Sigma Chi as a Significant Sig in 2017. Steve Sexton is a Canadian composer, arranger, musical director, producer and keyboardist. He served as Canadian singer Anne Murray's Musical Director for 25 years with responsibilities as her pianist, conductor, arranger, and on occasion her producer. Early career Sexton was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. Bill Champlin
William Bradford Champlin (born May 21, 1947) is an American singer, musician, arranger, producer, and songwriter. He formed the band Sons of Champlin in 1965, which still performs today, and was a member of the band Chicago from 1981–2009. He performed lead vocals on three of Chicago's biggest hits of the 1980s, 1984's "Hard Habit to Break" and 1988's "Look Away" and " I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love". During live shows, he performed the lower, baritone, vocal parts originated by original guitarist Terry Kath, who had died in 1978. He has won multiple Grammy Awards for songwriting.
