The Copa Masters CONMEBOL ( en, CONMEBOL Masters Cup, pt, Copa Master da Conmebol or Supercopa Conmebol) was a football club competition contested by the 4 past winners of the Copa CONMEBOL at the time. The cup is one of the many inter-South American club competitions that have been organized by CONMEBOL. It was played from February 8 to February 12, 1996, and it was contested in the city of Cuiabá with the participations of Atlético Mineiro, Botafogo, São Paulo, and Rosario Central. Cuiabá () is the capital city of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. It is located near the geographical centre of South America. Paulo César Batista dos Santos (born 24 March 1968 in), known just as Paulão, is a former Brazilian footballer who played as a centre back. An international for Brazil from 1990 to 1992, Paulão gained notability at Cruzeiro and Grêmio, where he won the 1994 Copa do Brasil with the Porto Alegre-side.
