Coos Art Museum
Coos Art Museum is a museum in Coos Bay, operating on the southern coast of the U.S. state of Oregon since 1966. It offers exhibitions, art classes, lectures, and community events. Coos Art Museum is housed in a 1936 Art Deco former U.S. Post Office and is home to six exhibition galleries. Construction of the post office began in January 1936 by Hoffman Construction Company, with it opening in November 1936 at a cost of $127,566. The Museum features between 18 and 25 changing exhibitions annually, including exhibits from its own 554-piece permanent collection of Northwest and contemporary art, which can also be viewed via the museum's website. Coos Bay ( Coos language: Atsixiis) is a city located in Coos County, Oregon, United States, where the Coos River enters Coos Bay on the Pacific Ocean. Hoffman Construction Company is a privately held construction founded in 1922. It is headquartered in Portland, Oregon. It also has an office location in Seattle. With a revenue of US$1.4 billion in FY2017, Hoffman was the 4th largest privately held company in Oregon and SW Washington by revenue in FY2017. It was the second largest general contractor in the Portland metro area in April 2019.
