Constantinos Carydis
Constantinos Carydis (Greek: Κωνσταντίνος Καρύδης) is a Greek conductor, born in Athens in 1974 and active in both the symphonic and operatic repertories. He won the 201 bestowed by the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, with Kent Nagano and Mariss Jansons among the judges. His accomplishments to date include Gluck's ''Alceste'' at Stuttgart in 2006 and Mozart's ''Die Entführung aus dem Serail'' in Amsterdam in 2008, both of which have been released on DVD. In orchestral music, Carydis is noted for his reading of Falla's complete ''Three-Cornered Hat'' ballet and for Rimsky-Korsakov's coloristic ''Scheherazade''. Bavarian State Opera
The Bayerische Staatsoper is a German opera company based in Munich. Its main venue is the Nationaltheater München, and its orchestra the Bayerische Staatsorchester. History The parent ensemble of the company was founded in 1653, under Electress consort Princess Henriette Adelaide of Savoy, when Giovanni Battista Maccioni's ''L'arpa festante'' was performed in the court theatre. ''Carmen'' () is an opera in four acts by the French composer Georges Bizet. The libretto was written by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, based on the novella of the same title by Prosper Mérimée. The opera was first performed by the Opéra-Comique in Paris on 3 March 1875, where its breaking of conventions shocked and scandalised its first audiences. The Bavarian State Orchestra (german: Bayerisches Staatsorchester, italic=no) is the orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Germany. The Oper Frankfurt (Frankfurt Opera) is a German opera company based in Frankfurt. Rolando Villazón Mauleón (born 22 February 1972) is a Mexican operatic tenor, stage director, author, radio and television personality and artistic director. He now lives in France, and in 2007 became a French citizen. Villazón has published several books, including the novels ''Malabares'' and ''Paladas de sombra contra la oscuridad'' which have been translated into French and German.
