Ohio is divided into 15 congressional districts, each represented by a member of the United States House of Representatives. Election district disputes in the 2010s After the 2010 Census, Ohio lost two House seats due to slow population growth compared to the national average, and a new map was signed into law on September 26, 2011. On May 3, 2019, a three-judge panel from the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio declared the Ohio's 2012 district map contrary to Article One of the United States Constitution, as "an unconstitutional partisan gerrymander" and ordered "the enactment of a constitutionally viable replacement" prior to the 2020 elections. Joyce Beatty
Joyce Marie Beatty (; née Birdsong, March 12, 1950) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Ohio's 3rd congressional district since 2013, and as chair of the Congressional Black Caucus since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, Beatty represented the 27th district in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2008, serving for a time as minority leader. She was also previously the senior vice-president for outreach and engagement at Ohio State University. Hillsboro, Ohio
Hillsboro is a city in and the county seat of Highland County, Ohio, United States approximately 35 mi (56 km) west of Chillicothe, and 50 miles east of Cincinnati. The population was 6,605 at the 2010 census. History Hillsboro was platted in 1807, and most likely named for the hills near the original town site. Brad Robert Wenstrup (born June 17, 1958) is an American politician, U.S. Army Reserve officer, and doctor of podiatric medicine, who has been the U.S. representative for since 2013. A Republican, he upset incumbent U.S. Representative Jean Schmidt to win the 2012 Republican primary election. Wenstrup is a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and an Iraq War veteran.
