''Confessions of Felix Krull'' (german: Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull) is a 1957 West German comedy and drama film directed by Kurt Hoffmann and starring Horst Buchholz, Liselotte Pulver, and Ingrid Andree.Bock & Bergfelder p. 378 It is based on the 1954 novel of the same title by Thomas Mann. The story was later made into a 1982 television series ''The Confessions of Felix Krull''. It was shot at the Wandsbek Studios in Hamburg and on location in Lisbon. The film's sets were designed by the art director Robert Herlth Robert Herlth (2 May 1893 – 6 January 1962) was a German art director. Kurt Hoffmann
Kurt Hoffmann (12 November 1910 – 25 June 2001) was a German film director, the son of Carl Hoffmann. He directed 48 films between 1938 and 1971. He ran a production company Independent Film along with Heinz Angermeyer. His 1958 film ''Wir Wunderkinder'' was entered into the 1st Moscow International Film Festival and his 1960 film '' The Haunted Castle'' was entered into the 2nd Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Silver Prize. Heidi Brühl
Heidi Rosemarie Brühl (; 30 January 1942 – 8 June 1991) was a German singer and actress who came to prominence as a young teenager and had a prolific career in film and television. She was also a successful recording artist, and is known for her participation in the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest. Paul Henckels
Paul Henckels (9 September 1885 – 27 May 1967) was a German film and stage actor. He appeared in more than 230 films between 1921 and 1965. Paul Henckels had started his acting career on the stage in the 1900s. He was well known for his eccentric, colourful roles and his trademark Rhineland accent. Among his most popular roles were the school teacher Professor Bömmel in ''Die Feuerzangenbowle'' (1944) and the veterinarian Dr. Pudlich in the "Immenhof film series" during the 1950s. He was also notable as a stage actor and appeared at the Schauspielhaus Berlin for many years. His most popular stage role was '' Wibbel the Tailor'', which he played more than 1000 times. Henckel's father was Jewish, and he was thus a "half-Jew" by the rules of the Nazis. As a rare exception, Henckels was nonetheless allowed to work during the Third Reich. Ilse Paula Steppat (30 November 1917 – 21 December 1969) was a German actress. Her husband was noted actor and director Max Nosseck. Biography She began her cinematic career at the age of 15 playing Joan of Arc. Steppat appeared regularly on the German stage, and starred in more than forty movies. Paul Victor Ernst Dahlke (12 April 1904 – 23 November 1984) was a German stage and film actor. Career Dahlke was born in Gross Streitz (today Strzezenice, Poland) near Köslin in Farther Pomerania. He visited school in Köslin, Stargard and passed his Abitur in Dortmund in 1922. Dahlke started to study at the Clausthal University of Technology and the Technical University of Berlin but also attended some lectures in German philology and dramatics. In 1927, Dahlke was a scholar of Max Reinhardt's drama school and appeared at different stages in Berlin and Munich in 1929. He became a member of the Deutsches Theater ensemble in 1934 until its closedown in 1944 and was awarded a ''Staatsschauspieler'' in 1937.
