Conch Awards
The Conch Awards recognise UK companies and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of audio post production. The Awards are held annually in London, England and are funded by the UK Screen Association. The first Conch Awards were held in 2006. Categories People * Film Re-Recording Mixer of the Year This award recognises the UK's best re-recording mixer working in film. * Film Sound Editor of the Year This award is given to a person based in the UK (i.e. UK resident) that recognises his or her excellence in the field of film. The judging panel will take into consideration a number of factors such as: career and quality of work, contribution to the craft and audio profession. Post Production
Post-production is part of the process of filmmaking, video production, audio production, and photography. Post-production includes all stages of production occurring after principal photography or recording individual program segments. The first part of the post-production process is the traditional non-linear (analog) film editing at the outset of post-production has mostly been replaced by digital or video editing software that operates as a non-linear editing (NLE) system. The advantage of being able to have this non-linear capacity is in the flexibility for editing scenes out of order, making creative changes at will, carefully shaping the film in a thoughtful, meaningful way for emotional effect. UK Screen Association
The UK Screen Alliance (formerly UK Screen Association) is a trade body that represents British companies working in the film, TV and commercials industries. The association promotes the business interests of companies involved in audio and video post-production, visual effects (VFX), special effects, animation, camera and equipment hire and production studios. The current CEO, appointed in 2016 is Neil Hatton. Leading member companies include Framestore, Double Negative, Industrial Light and Magic UK, MPC, The Mill, Aardman Animations, Technicolor and Molinare. Angel Recording Studios
Angel Recording Studios Limited (also referred to as Angel Studios) was a British recording studio based in the eponymous recording and mixing complex in Islington, London. The company was incorporated by James Warren Sylvester de Wolfe on 5 December 1978. After ownership of the property transferred to third parties, the facility was closed at the end of 2019. The building was originally constructed as a Congregational chapel in 1888, and is now Grade II listed.
