Compagnie Nationale Du Rhône
The Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR) is a French electricity generation company, mainly supplying renewable power from hydroelectric facilities on the Rhone. Operations Established in 1933, as of 2009 the company derives most of its power from 19 major dams on the Rhone River with associated power stations, for which it has a concession until 2023. The company also has wind and solar power farms. This company has been totally independent of Électricité de France (EDF) since 2002, and is EDF's main competitor in the French electricity market. Its production averages 14.4 billion TWh per year, a quarter of the national hydropower and 3% of French electricity production. Since its inception, the company was entrusted by the State to develop and operate the Rhone, with three important goals: power generation, navigation, irrigation and other agricultural uses. Léon Perrier
Léon Perrier (1873–1948) was a French politician. He served as the French Minister of the Colonies from 1925 to 1928. Early life Léon Perrier was born on 1 February 1873 in Tournon-sur-Rhône in the Ardèche, France. Career Perrier served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies from 1910 to 1919. He went on to serve as a member of the Senate from 1920 to 1941. He represented Isère both times. Perrier served as the Minister of the Colonies from 29 October 1925 to 19 July 1926 and from 23 July 1926 to 11 November 1928. Arras-sur-Rhône
Arras-sur-Rhône is a commune in the Ardèche department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Arrageois'' or ''Arrageoises''. Geography Arras-sur-Rhône is located 2 km south of Saint-Vallier and 2 km north of Vion on the right bank of the Rhône. Access to the commune is by the D86 road from Ozon in the north passing down the length of the commune and through the village continuing south to Vion. The D800 road also goes south from the village crossing the Rhône via the Gervans Hydro-electric Dam to join National Highway N7 on the left bank. The Paris-Lyon-Marseille railway passes through the commune but there is no station. The nearest station is at Tournon-sur-Rhône to the south.
