Common Law (2012 TV Series)
''Common Law'' is an American comedy-drama television series, which ran on USA Network from May 11 to August 10, 2012, and stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole as two Los Angeles Police Department detectives who can't stand each other and are ordered to see a couples therapist to remedy the situation. The series was created by Cormac and Marianne Wibberley and was produced by CBS Television Studios and Junction Entertainment. While originally planned to premiere on January 26, 2012, the series was pushed back until summer 2012. The series premiered following ''Fairly Legal'' on Friday, May 11, 2012. The show was canceled by the USA Network after one season and 12 episodes on October 31, 2012, due to low ratings. Elizabeth Chomko (born 1981) is an American playwright, film director, screenwriter and actress best known for the film ''What They Had.'' Early life Chomko grew up in Chicago, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Her family moved to Belgium when she was a freshman in high school. They later moved to California and she attended Los Altos High School in Los Altos, acting in the Broken Box Theatre Company and graduating in 1999. She attended American University, earning degrees in theater and philosophy with a specialty in gender studies. Melvin Damski (born July 21, 1946 in New York, New York) is an American director and producer of film and television. Life and career Mel Damski (born in New York, New York) is an American film director and film producer. Damski has Northern European Jewish heritage, one of four children of German refugee parents. Damski grew up in Roslyn, Long Island, New York and attended Colgate University on a football scholarship. He was a reporter for Long Island ''Newsday'' before moving to Los Angeles to attend the AFI Conservatory in 1972. Damski was the Producing-Director of ''Psych''. TV by the Numbers was a website devoted to collecting and analyzing television ratings data in the United States that operated from 2007 to 2020. It was a part of Nexstar Media Group's Zap2it television news/listings site. History An Internet and statistical analyst, Robert Seidman had previously worked for IBM and Charles Schwab, and published an online newsletter about the Internet and AOL before founding TV by the Numbers; Bill Gorman had been an AOL executive until 1998, and had read Seidman's column. Friends since the early 1990s when they met near Washington, D.C., both were fond of television, as Gorman loved numbers and Seidman enjoyed statistics relating to it; the subject of television ratings data entered into one of their conversations. Gorman was dismayed at being unable to find other blogs devoted solely to television data, and after a Google search confirmed this, he and Seidman thought of the idea for a website devoted solely to the subject. Marianne Wibberley & Cormac Wibberley
Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley (also known as The Wibberleys) are an American husband and wife screenwriting team. They have been writing together since 1991, and made their first screenplay sale in 1993. Cormac's father was Leonard Wibberley, creator of the fictional Duchy of Grand Fenwick, and author of ''The Mouse That Roared'', among other books. Biography The pair grew up in Southern California, where they attended Mira Costa High School. Both went on to attend UCLA as undergraduates, with Marianne staying at UCLA for graduate work at the film school. They currently live in the South Bay, Los Angeles area with their daughter.
