''Come What May'' is a studio album by an American jazz quartet led by Joshua Redman. The album was recorded as a quartet and released on March 29, 2019 by Nonesuch Records. Background ''Come What May'' consists of seven original tracks written by Redman. For this group of musicians the album is the first recording in nearly two decades. His longtime friends and colleagues invited for ''Come What May'' are pianist Aaron Goldberg, bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Gregory Hutchinson (musician), Gregory Hutchinson. Joshua Redman
Joshua Redman (born February 1, 1969) is an American jazz saxophonist and composer. He is the son of jazz saxophonist Dewey Redman (1931–2006). Life and career Joshua Redman was born in Berkeley, California, to jazz saxophonist Dewey Redman and dancer and librarian Renee Shedroff. He is Jewish. He was exposed to many kinds of music at the Center for World Music in Berkeley, where his mother studied South Indian dance. Some of his earliest lessons in music and improvisation were on recorder with gamelan player Jody Diamond. He was exposed at an early age to a variety of musics and instruments and began playing clarinet at age nine before switching to what became his primary instrument, the tenor saxophone, one year later. Redman cites John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Cannonball Adderley, his father Dewey Redman, as well as the Beatles, Aretha Franklin, the Temptations, Earth, Wind and Fire, Prince, the Police and Led Zeppelin as musical influences. Tom Hull is an American music critic, web designer, and former software developer. Hull began writing criticism for ''The Village Voice'' in the mid 1970s under the mentorship of its music editor Robert Christgau, but left the field to pursue a career in software design and engineering during the 1980s and 1990s, which earned him the majority of his life's income. John Gall (designer)
John Gall (born 1963 in New Jersey), is an American graphic designer known primarily for the design of book covers. He is a graduate of Rutgers University. Gall is currently the creative director of Alfred A. Knopf. He was formerly creative director of Abrams Books, and prior to that, vice president and art director for Vintage Books and Anchor Books, both imprints of Random House. He is well known for the minimal wit in his design style and is notable for the sheer number of book covers he has designed. His awards include over 60 AIGA Annual Awards. He has also worked with Alfred A. Knopf, Farrar, Straus and Giroux and Grove Press. Gall has also designed CD covers for Nonesuch Records. Gregory Calbi (born April 3, 1949) is an American mastering engineer at Sterling Sound, New Jersey. Biography Greg Calbi was born on April 3, 1949, in Yonkers, New York, and raised in Bayside, Queens, New York. He graduated in 1966 from Bishop Reilly High School in Fresh Meadows. Calbi earned his bachelor's degree in Mass Communications at Fordham University where he studied with Marshall McLuhan and his staff for 3 of those years. He then earned his master's degree in Political Media Studies (Speech Department) at the University of Massachusetts.
