Columbia Public Schools
The Columbia Public School District is located in Columbia, Boone County, Missouri. The district is Accredited with Distinction by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. 19,052 students are enrolled as of 2020. The district has four high schools, seven middle schools, and twenty-one elementary schools. The district also has a career center, preschool, gifted education school, and special education school. The current Superintendent, Brian Yearwood, started with the district on July 1st, 2021. Prior to 2013, there were three middle schools for grades 6-7 and three junior high schools for grades 8–9. Hickman High School
David Henry Hickman High School (commonly Hickman or HHS) is a public secondary school in Columbia, Missouri, United States, serving students in grades 9– 12. Built in 1927, it is the oldest of four high schools in the Columbia Public Schools, with admission based primarily on the locations of students' homes. Hickman is also one of the largest high schools in Missouri and has perennially strong academic, athletic, and arts programs. Rock Bridge High School is a public high school located in southern Columbia, Missouri, United States. The school serves grades 9 through 12 and is one of four High Schools in Columbia Public Schools. It is located next to the Columbia Area Career Center. The mascot is the Bruin Bear. History Due to the crowding of David H. Hickman High School towards the end of the 1960s and the increasing population of Columbia in the 1970s, the Columbia Board of Education decided to form a new high school. The board bought of land in the southern portion of the city and started the construction of the new high school. The name "Rock Bridge" was chosen because of the school's proximity to the natural rock bridge at Rock Bridge Memorial State Park. Muriel Williams Battle High School (commonly Battle) is a public high school in Columbia, Missouri, United States. It opened for summer school on June 3, 2013, and started its first school year in August 2013. The school serves students in grades 9– 12, however seniors did not attend the first year of operation. Christian Fellowship School (CFS) is a private Protestant Christian school in Columbia, Missouri. CFS educates from preschool through twelfth grade. History CFS began in 1981 with an original enrollment of 24 students. Heritage Academy is a private, co-educational Christian school in Columbia, Missouri, USA, which employs the University-Model approach to education and is certified by the National Association of University-Model Schools (NAUMS).
