Colour (Andy Hunter Album)
Colour, released in 2008, is the third full-length album by British DJ and electronic dance music composer Andy Hunter°. It is the follow-up to his second album ''Life'', as well has his longest album to date; however, ''Exodus'' is over three minutes longer, so if the album was reissued on two discs, it would be. Any reissues for any of Andy's albums is yet to be confirmed. The album was brought with much critical acclaim. "Stars", a collaboration with Mark Underdown, was the main, and only, single off the album. Differently from his previous two album releases, which were mainly focused on the EDM genre, the songs on ''Colour'' display a more accessible and commercially oriented sound, closer to synthpop: although elements of EDM and industrial rock are still present, the rhythms are essentially slower and quieter, and the Nine Inch Nails-like influences are less prominent than in his previous releases. Andy Hunter (born 23 April 1974) is a British Christian DJ and electronic dance music artist. Born in Leicester and starting his career in the drum and bass scene of Bristol during the 1990s, he has continued to release new music, releasing his 14th album in 2019. Midge Ure
James Ure (born 10 October 1953) is a Scottish musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. His stage name, Midge, is a phonetic reversal of Jim, the diminutive form of his actual name. Ure enjoyed particular success in the 1970s and 1980s in bands including Slik, Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids and Visage, and as the frontman of Ultravox. In 1984, he co-wrote and produced the charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?", which has sold 3.7 million copies in the UK. The song is the second highest-selling single in UK chart history. Ure co-organised Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 with Bob Geldof. He acts as a trustee for the charity and also serves as an ambassador for Save the Children. Nine Inch Nails, commonly abbreviated as NIN and stylized as NIИ, is an American industrial rock band formed in Cleveland in 1988. It initially originated in the 1970s, and drew influence from early experimental and industrial acts such as Cromagnon, Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten and Chrome. Synthpop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. It was prefigured in the 1960s and early 1970s by the use of synthesizers in progressive rock, electronic, art rock, disco, and particularly the Krautrock of bands like Kraftwerk. It arose as a distinct genre in Japan and the United Kingdom in the post-punk era as part of the new wave movement of the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. ''Exodus'', released in October 2002, is the first full-length album produced by British DJ Andy Hunter°. The music is a sweeping mix of sophisticated techno and electronic dance music. On his website, Hunter° explains how the inspiration for many of the tracks came from the Book of Exodusbr>Additionally, on the back cover of the CD booklet he writes: "''Exodus'' is a journey into the presence of God; to hunger for God in a passionate way, craving that intimacy and hearing the spirit; to commit everything we are, and to say that we are going to run for and live our lives one hundred-percent; to be movers and shakers for the cause of our love, wherever that leads us... even into the desert of our lives; and to ask questions and find answers of who we are and where we are going..."
