Colorado's Finest Alternative High School
Colorado's Finest High School of Choice is an alternative public high school in Englewood, Colorado, United States, a suburb of Denver. CFAHS serves students who prefer to attend an alternative program with a flexible start and end time. Graduates receive a certified high school diploma by completing 23 credit hours. In 2014, the school changed its name from Colorado's Finest Alternative High School to Colorado's Finest High School of Choice The school also moved into a new facility at that time. School hours The program runs from 7:55 AM to 4:00 PM. There is a single 30-minute break for lunch around noon; it is a closed campus but students are allowed to obtain lunch either on campus or by ordering in (only during their lunch break). The City of Englewood is a home rule municipality located in Arapahoe County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 33,659 at the 2020 United States Census. Englewood is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor. Englewood is located immediately south of Denver in the South Platte River Valley. History The recorded history of Englewood began in 1858, when gold was discovered on what came to be called Little Dry Creek by William Green Russell, an early settler of the High Plains. Alternative High School
Alternative High School (AHS) is a public senior high (secondary) school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; which teaches grades 10 through 12. AHS is currently located at the Clinton Ford Centre, which was home to the former Clinton Ford Elementary School. AHS was launched, independent of the board, in September 1974 by a parents group. It reflected many of the "alternative education" ideas that were popular at the time. The early philosophy the school borrowed from the ideas of A. S. Neill, who founded Summerhill School.
