Colony Ramazzoti
The International Art Colony "Ramazzotti" is an annual art colony held at the lakeside city of Ohrid in North Macedonia. The colony runs every August for up to 20 invited artists. The colony attracts artists from all of Europe and North America and finishes with an exhibition of the artists' work. The colony runs similar to many other East European art colonies, forming a mixture of sculptors, painters, wood carvers and photographers. The colony was founded in 2003 by Zoran and Blagorodna Josifov from Kavadarci Kavadarci ( mk, Кавадарци ) is a town in the Tikveš region of North Macedonia. Art Colony
An art colony, also known as an artists' colony, can be defined two ways. Its most liberal description refers to the organic congregation of artists in towns, villages and rural areas, often drawn by areas of natural beauty, the prior existence of other artists or art schools there, and a lower cost of living. More commonly, the term refers to the guest-host model of a mission-driven planned community, which administers a formal process for awarding artist residencies. In the latter case, a typical mission might include providing artists with the time, space and support to create; fostering community among artists; and providing arts education (lectures, workshops) to the public. Simonida Nemanjić ( sr-cyr, Симонида Немањић; c. 1294 – after 1336), born Simonis Palaiologina ( el, Σιμωνίς Παλαιολογίνα, sr. Симонида Палеолог, ''Simonida Paleolog''), was a Byzantine princess and queen consort of the Kingdom of Serbia, wife of Serbian king Stefan Milutin (r. 1282–1321). Queen Simonida was a daughter of the Byzantine Emperor Andronikos II Palaiologos (r. 1282–1328) and Irene of Montferrat. In Medieval Serbia Queen Simonida is best remembered as a patron of Fine Arts, Arts and Letters. Life Princess Simonida was born in Constantinople ca. 1294. Dragan Radenović ( sr-Cyrl, Драган Раденовић, Sarajevo, FNRY, April 12, 1951) is a Serbian artist, university professor, and academician. Biography Early life He was born with his father Radivoje Radenović, a Yugoslav People's Army officer, and his mother Ranđija, born Maksimović. Later, the couple had two daughters and a son.
