Colombia At The 2018 Winter Olympics
Colombia competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, from 9 to 25 February 2018. The country returned to the Winter Olympics after last competing in 2010, which also marked its debut. The Colombian team consisted of three males and one female, competing in three different sports. Competitors The following is the list of number of competitors participating in the Colombian delegation per sport. Alpine skiing Colombia qualified one male athlete, Michael Poettoz. Poettoz was born in Cali and was adopted by a French family when he was aged 21 months. Poettoz grew up and learned how to ski in Les Carroz d'Araches, France. Poettoz also represented the country at the Winter Youth Olympics in 2016 in Lillehammer, Norway. Flag Of Colombia
The national flag of Colombia symbolises Colombian independence from Spain, gained on 20 July 1810. It is a horizontal tricolor of yellow, blue and red. The yellow stripe takes up a half of the flag and the blue and red take up a quarter of the space each. Symbolism and design The horizontal stripes (from top to bottom) of yellow, blue and red tricolor have a ratio of 2:1:1. It—together with that of Ecuador, also derived from the flag of Gran Colombia—is different from most other tricolor flags, either vertical or horizontal, in having stripes which are not equal in size. Cross-country Skiing At The 2018 Winter Olympics – Men's 15 Kilometre Freestyle
The men's 15 kilometre freestyle cross-country skiing competition at the 2018 Winter Olympics was held on 16 February 2018 at 15:00 KST at the Alpensia Cross-Country Skiing Centre in Pyeongchang, South Korea. In the victory ceremony, the medals were presented by Gian-Franco Kasper, member of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee, accompanied by Urs Lehmann, President of the Swiss Ski Association. Qualification A total of up to 310 cross-country skiers qualified across all eleven events. Athletes qualified for this event by having met the A qualification standard, which meant having 100 or less FIS Points or meeting the B standard, which meant 300 or less FIS points in the distance classification. Countries not meeting the A standard were allowed to enter a maximum of one B standard athlete per gender. W Radio Colombia is a news/talk/adult contemporary Colombian radio network, part of Caracol Radio. It started in 1973 as adult contemporary station ''Caracol Estéreo''. Mialitiana Clerc (born 16 November 2001 in Ambohitrimanjaka, Madagascar) is an alpine skier from Madagascar. Clerc competed for Madagascar at the 2018 Winter Olympics in the alpine skiing events. Clerc became the first female to compete for Madagascar at the Winter Olympics. Clerc was born in Madagascar and was adopted by a French family at the age of one. She learned to ski in France.
