Colm Ó Cíosóig
Colm Ó Cíosóig (; born 31 October 1964) is an Irish musician, best known as the drummer for the alternative rock band My Bloody Valentine, of which he was a founding member. Biography My Bloody Valentine Originally formed in 1983, My Bloody Valentine had gone through a few lineup changes before they forged a signature sound that was to become known by the music press as "shoegazing" in the late 80s and early 90s. Along with Kevin Shields' guitar work and Bilinda Butcher's ethereal vocals, Ó Cíosóig's energetic and snare-heavy drumming had become a key element of the band's sound. He has co-written songs for My Bloody Valentine and has contributed production work to many of their releases. During the recording of '' Loveless'' (1991), Ó Cíosóig suffered from physical ailments that limited his drumming ability. ''Hideout'' is the third album by San Francisco-based indie rock band Film School, released on September 11, 2007. The album features a guest appearance by Colm O'Ciosoig from My Bloody Valentine. The album takes its name from a lyric in opening track "Dear Me." The first single from the album was "Dear Me", released as a digital download and on promo-only 7" vinyl (with different B-sides each) to coincide with the album's release. Film School is a five-piece indie rock band from Los Angeles and San Francisco. History The band was formed in 1998 by lead singer Greg Bertens. Initially, the band only consisted of Bertens working with members of Fuck and Pavement when they released their debut album ''Brilliant Career,'' on MeToo! records in 2001. Jason Ruck (keyboards), Nyles Lannon (guitar), Justin Labo (bass guitar), and Ben Montesano (drums) joined the band on a permanent basis later that year. In 2003, the band released ''Alwaysnever'', an EP on Amazing Grease Records, a record label founded by Scott Kannberg from the band Pavement. Donny Newenhouse later replaced Montesano on drums. Vetiver is an American Folk music, folk band headed by songwriter Andy Cabic. History Vetiver was formed in San Francisco in 2002. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2004 in music, 2004 on the small indie folk label DiCristina. Since the album's release, Vetiver has toured extensively, opening for and collaborating with Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom. Laika (band)
Laika were an English band formed in 1993 and helmed by Margaret Fiedler (lead vocals, programming) and Guy Fixsen (guitar, programming). Their lineup also included John Frenett (bass), Lou Ciccotelli (drums), Louise Elliot (flute, saxophone), and Rob Ellis (drums). Laika were founded following Fiedler and Frenett's departure from the band Moonshake; Laika's other members had previously worked with different artists on the roster of Moonshake's label Too Pure. Laika's experimental style blended diverse genres, including electronica, krautrock, dub, hip hop, and jazz. They released their debut album '' Silver Apples of the Moon'' in 1994, and followed with 1997's '' Sounds of the Satellites'', both to critical praise.
