The City of Prospect is an inner urban local government area (LGA) in Adelaide, South Australia. The council seat is the unusually-large suburb of Prospect, which makes up almost two thirds of the tiny council area, which is less than . Broadview is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and the City of Prospect. History The suburb was laid out in 1915 by C. H. Angas and K. D. Bowman. Broadview Post Office did not open until 20 November 1945 and closed in 1987. Geography Broadview lies astride Regency Road and has Hampstead Road as its eastern boundary. Demographics The 2006 Census by the Australian Bureau of Statistics counted 3,597 persons in Broadview on census night. Of these, 46.4% were male and 53.6% were female. The majority of residents (74.8%) are of Australian birth, with an additional 4.3% identifying England as their country of birth. Vale Park is a suburb of Adelaide in the Town of Walkerville, Australia. It is located northeast of the Adelaide city centre between North East Road and the River Torrens, astride Ascot Avenue, part of the A17 highway which is the eastern ring route bypass of Adelaide. Vale Park was originally a private subdivision named after Vale House, the home of Philip Levi, a pastoral pioneer. History The eastern section of Vale Park was originally known as Hamilton, after Robert Hamilton, who owned the first farmhouse built there, Hamilton House. This was demolished in 2017. Walkerville, South Australia
Walkerville is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It lies just north east of the city centre, about from the Adelaide GPO. Walkerville is one of South Australia's most affluent suburbs and in 2012 it was South Australia's second "top earning suburb." History Walkerville was named after Captain John Walker R. N. (no relation to Captain Johnnie Walker), who took up land in the district in 1838, two years after the first colonists arrived in South Australia. The area was attractive to early settlers and within a few years, the settlement had become a village. During the 1840s, Walker fell victim to over-speculation in land value and a statewide financial depression. Gilberton (formerly Gilbert Town) is an inner northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia on the northern bank of the River Torrens. It is a short distance from Adelaide's city centre. It is bounded by the river, Park Terrace, Stephen Terrace and Northcote Terrace. The suburb is largely residential with some large and ornate Victorian homes and approximately of the Torrens Linear Park represent its southern boundary.
