The Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly is the Unicameralism, unicameral deliberative assembly of the General Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Terra Nova is a provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. As of 2011 there were 8,425 eligible voters within the district. The central Newfoundland district is found on the western shore of Bonavista Bay and Trinity Bay though it excludes the Bonavista Peninsula and includes the national park of same name. While farming and fishing have been traditional mainstays of the economy, tourism has become increasingly popular. The largest community in this district is Clarenville. It also includes communities on Bonavista Bay from Glovertown south to Port Blandford and the Trinity Bay communities between Clarenville and Southport while it also includes St. Brendan's and Random Island. The 2015 Newfoundland and Labrador general election, held on November 30, 2015, elected members of the 48th General Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador. The Progressive Conservative Party which had governed since 2003 election, was defeated by the Liberal Party, which won a majority in the new assembly. The election had been scheduled for October 13, 2015, under Newfoundland and Labrador's House of Assembly Act, mandating a fixed election day on the second Tuesday in October in the fourth calendar year after the previous election. However, the House of Assembly amended the act in June 2015, to delay the election until November 30, 2015, so that the election campaign would not overlap with the federal election scheduled on October 19, 2015. Dale Kirby (born May 19, 1971) is a politician who served in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 2011 to 2019. He served as Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development in the Ball government from 2015 to 2018. Early life Kirby was born in St. Lawrence on the Burin Peninsula.
