Col De La Croix De Mounis
Col de la Croix de Mounis (elevation ) is a mountain pass in the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc in southern France. In July 2013, the col was crossed on stage 7 of the Tour de France. Location The col is located on the D922 road between Saint-Gervais-sur-Mare and Lacaune on the slopes of the Espinouse mountains. Details of the climb The climb starts at the village of Andabre, where the road leaves the valley of the River Mare. From here, the climb is , climbing at an average gradient of 6.5%. Tour de France The Col de la Croix de Mounis has been crossed three times in the Tour de France bicycle race. On the first occasion, in 1953, the pass was descended en route from Albi to Béziers when it was not categorised. 1972 Tour De France
The 1972 Tour de France was the 59th edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's Grand Tours. It took place from 1 to 22 July, with 20 stages covering a distance of . The long awaited clash between Eddy Merckx and Luis Ocaña after Ocaña crashed on Col de Menté in the 1971 Tour de France. After riding strongly in the first two weeks of the race and being the closest GC contender to Merckx, Luis Ocaña crashed once more, in the Pyrenees, leaving Merckx to battle Cyrille Guimard for the win. Guimard, having won four stages, had to leave the race after stage 17 in second place (he already was 7:58 behind at that point), but was given the combativity award after the race. The Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) is part of the French media group Éditions Philippe Amaury. It organises the Tour de France and other cycling races, as well as golf, running, sailing and off-road motorsport events. Blel Kadri (born 3 September 1986) is a former French professional road racing cyclist, who most recently rode for UCI ProTeam . He is of Algerian descent. Career 2013 In March 2013, Kadri won the Roma Maxima, a newly revived race formerly known as the Giro del Lazio. He was part of the early breakaway which formed after the first hour of racing, and shook off his fellow escapees until he was alone with to go. The 2013 Tour de France was the 100th Tour de France. It ran from 29 June 2013 to 21 July 2013, starting in the city of Porto-Vecchio in Corsica, with the island hosting the first three stages. Corsica was the only Metropolitan region, and Corse-du-Sud and Haute-Corse were the only Metropolitan departments, through which the Tour had never previously passed and the organisers wanted to combine the 100th edition of the Tour with the Tour's first ever visit to Corsica. The opening stage was a standard road stage rather than the more usual Individual time trial or "Prologue". To accommodate the tour entourage during their stay in Corsica, the organisers chartered the '' Mega Smeralda'' cruiseferry to house members of the organisation, media and others who work on the Tour and to host press conferences, although the riders stayed in hotels in and around Porto-Vecchio. The 2013 Tour de France was the 100th edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's Grand Tours. It started on the island of Corsica on 30 June and finished on the Champs-Élysées in Paris on 21 July. The Tour consisted of twenty-one stages and covered a total distance of .
