Cochise (band)
Cochise was an English country rock band that performed in the early 1970s. This band is more significant for who they included than what they produced. Singer Stewart Brown had grown up with Reggie Dwight, later Elton John, and co-founded the band Bluesology with him. After the demise of Cochise, Mick Grabham made a solo album in 1972 and joined Procol Harum the following year. B.J. Cole also recorded a solo album in 1972, called ''The New Hovering Dog'', before becoming an important session musician playing with Elton John, Uriah Heep and many others throughout the 1970s. ''David Gilmour'' is the debut solo studio album by Pink Floyd guitarist and co-lead vocalist David Gilmour. The album was released in May and June 1978 in the United Kingdom and the United States, respectively. The album reached number 17 in the UK and number 29 on the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' US album charts; it was Music recording sales certification, certified Gold in the US by the Recording Industry Association of America, RIAA. The album was produced by Gilmour, and consists mostly of blues and guitar-oriented rock songs, except for the piano-dominated ballad "So Far Away". Production and recording The tracks used for the album were recorded between February and March 1978 with engineer John Etchells at Super Bear Studios in France. ''Swallow Tales'' is a 1971 album by British country rock band Cochise. Cochise was most well known for guitarist Mick Grabham, who joined British rock band Procol Harum after Cochise dissolved in 1972. The album was released in 1971,Liner notes written by band member BJ Cole from album ''Past Loves''. Reception Richie Unterberger of Allmusic wrote that ''Cochise'' "treads an uneasy line between eclectic diversity and a lack of direction" and is "distinguished just slightly by a more country-ish flavor than the norm arly 1970s British rock courtesy of Cole's pedal steel". Willie Wilson (drummer)
Willie Wilson (born John Andrew Wilson, 8 July 1947) is an English rock drummer, known for his work with Pink Floyd and his long-time association with their guitarist, David Gilmour. Music career In April 1966, Wilson joined Jokers Wild, a Cambridge band that included his friend David Gilmour on guitar, and later, Rick Wills (subsequently of Foreigner and Bad Company) on bass. In mid-1967, the band travelled to France. The trio performed under the band name Flowers, then Bullitt, but were not successful. After hearing their uninspired covers of contemporary chart hits, club owners were reluctant to pay them, and soon after their arrival in Paris, thieves stole their equipment. When Bullitt returned to England later that year, they were so impoverished that their van was completely empty of petrol and they had to push it off the ferry. Rick Wills
Richard William Wills (born 5 December 1947) is an English bass guitarist. He is best known for his work with the rock band Foreigner and his associations with the Small Faces, Peter Frampton, Spooky Tooth, David Gilmour, Bad Company and The Jones Gang. Career Rick Wills played in the early days of rock music in Cambridge, from c. 1961 in the Vikings, then in a succession of local bands: the Sundowners, Soul Committee, Bullitt (with David Gilmour on guitar and John 'Willie' Wilson on drums) and Cochise before joining ''Frampton's Camel''. Wills joined the rock band Jokers Wild in mid-1966, (with David Gilmour on guitars and vocals), until they broke up in 1967. He played bass on Peter Frampton's first three albums before parting from Frampton in 1975. He became the bassist with Roxy Music in 1976, before leaving them and joining the Small Faces in 1977, during their reunion period.
