Club Pucará
Club Pucará is an Argentine sports club based in the Burzaco district of Greater Buenos Aires. Pucará is mostly known for its rugby union and women's field hockey teams. Other activities hosted by the club are gymnastics and swimming. The rugby union team currently plays in Top 12, the first division of the Unión de Rugby de Buenos Aires league system. History Club Pucará was founded in 1943 by young players that had left Gimnasia y Esgrima de Buenos Aires (GEBA) as a result of several disagreements with the managers of that club. Pucará was founded in the Burzaco district of the Greater Buenos Aires. During the 1952 Ireland rugby union tour of South America, Pucará defeated the Ireland national rugby union team 11-6. Since then, many Pucará players have gone on to be selected for the Argentina national team. Burzaco
Burzaco is a city in Almirante Brown Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It has an area of 22.77 km2, holds a population of 98,859 (). It is 27 kilometres from Buenos Aires city, to which it is linked by the Ferrocarril General Roca South. Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). 1952 Ireland Rugby Union Tour Of South America
The 1952 Ireland rugby union tour of South America, was a series of rugby matches played in Chile and Argentina. This tour by the Ireland national rugby union team coincided with the death of Eva Peron, the wife of Juan Peron, the President of Argentina. As a result, it was almost cancelled. Eva Peron died on 26 July, six days after the Irish squad had departed Dublin. However, after playing their first game in Santiago, Chile, the team travelled onto Buenos Aires and completed the tour as planned. Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima (also known for its acronym GEBA) is an Argentine multi-sports club placed in the city of Buenos Aires. The institution is one of the oldest in the country, having been established in 1880. Gimnasia y Esgrima is also one of the largest clubs of Argentina, with around 30 different disciplines hosted in the three buildings that the institution owns in Buenos Aires. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities.
