Music and lyrics ''Clockseed'' has a larger number of guest vocalists than its predecessor, with Daniel handling vocal duties on only four out of twenty-two tracks. All the vocalists involved were known through Chase, who sent out tapes to anyone who could lend their lyrics and vocals to a track. Vampire Rodents
Vampire Rodents was a sound collage and experimental music ensemble based out of Phoenix, Arizona, although its core members originally came from Canada. The creative nucleus of the project comprised vocalist and composer Daniel Vahnke and keyboardist Victor Wulf. Daniel Vahnke was primarily influenced by 20th-century classical and avant-garde music, whereas Wulf drew from new age, ambient and synth-driven pop music. Their work also dabbled in big band, bebop, musique concrète, industrial, electro, Indian classical and Greek music. Vampire Rodents debuted with '' War Music'' (1991), an album that showcased their knack for dark humor and experimentation with the pop and industrial music format. Society Burning is an American coldwave industrial rock band composed of Daveoramma (born Dave Mansfield, aka Dave Creadeau), Twitch, and Boom chr Paige (born Boom Fernandez). The group was founded in Las Cruces, New Mexico, in 1991 and was originally named 'The Watchmen' (a tribute to the Alan Moore graphic novel). History Daveoramma (born Dave Mansfield) began recording music in 1991 under the name "Watchmen" with one other person while at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. As an instructor of recording arts at the university, Mansfield had unfettered access to the university's 16-track recording studio where he met Boom chr Paige (born Boom Fernandez) who was recording for a band called ''Your Mother''. Dan Gatto (born Dan Merrick Gatto; September 21, 1970) is an American musician best recognized as the vocalist for synth punk band Babyland. He also collaborated with Vampire Rodents composer Daniel Vahnke on a project called Recliner. After Babyland dissolved in 2009, Gatto founded Continues as an outlet for his solo work. Biography Dan Merrick Gatto was born on September 21, 1970 and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. He became passionate about music at the age of twelve when he discovered The Human League's ''Dare'' album. By fifteen he had begun to compose electronic music and in 1989 formed the synth punk group Babyland with percussionist Michael Smith. Lullaby Land (album)
''Lullaby Land'' is the third studio album by Vampire Rodents, released on October 25, 1993, by Re-Constriction Records. The album utilizes strings, horns, and timpanis backed with industrial music tropes. Music and lyrics Daniel Vahnke's lyrics focus on topics such as referring to the UN is a genocide monitor, daring Muslims to nuke Belgrade, cattle drive-by shootings, and "the only good Nazi is a dead Nazi". The album has much more emphasis on guitars than either of their previous releases, while retaining their usual sound. The tracks "Trilobite" and "Nosedive" were made in collaboration with 'electronic junk punk' band Babyland and were first released on the ''Rivet Head Culture'' compilation under the band name Recliner. This collaboration would continue throughout the Rodents' career. Ether Bunny is the side project of Daniel Vahnke, the principal composer for Vampire Rodents. ''Gravity's Rim'' is the fifth studio album by the American experimental music band Vampire Rodents, released on May 14, 1996, by Fifth Colvmn Records. Music and lyrics ''Gravity's Rim'' returns to the pop format of the band's earlier albums as well as a more jazz oriented sound similar to Daniel Vahnke's Ether Bunny project. There are fewer guest vocalists compared to the previous album, with the focus shifting back to Vahnke's vocals and lyrics. Former collaborators contributed their vocals to the music, including Maria Azevedo, Boom chr Paige, Dave Creadeau, Mark Edwards and Jared Louche. Victor Wulf
Victor Wulf is a Canadian keyboard player and composer. He is recognized for his solo ambient music project Dilate and as a founding member of sound collage band Vampire Rodents. Biography Victor Wulf was involved in composing music for television since 1977. In June 1989, Wulf and Vahnke founded Vampire Rodents, a project that incorporated elements of industrial rock and sound collage. The duo released three albums: '' War Music'' (1990), ''Premonition'' (1992) and '' Lullaby Land'' (1993). During this time, Wulf was primary influenced by Can, Bernard Herrmann, John Zorn and big band music. Hate Dept. is an American industrial/ punk rock band, formed in 1991 by Steven Seibold. Seibold is a multi-instrumentalist who writes, records and releases Hate Dept. albums with minimal outside help.
