Cleveland City Stars
The Cleveland City Stars were an American professional soccer team based in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Founded in 2006, the team played in the USL First Division (USL-1), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid in 2009. The club folded soon after the 2009 season. The team played its home games at Bearcat Stadium (renamed Middlefield Cheese Stadium for sponsorship purposes) on the campus of Bedford High School in nearby Bedford, Ohio, where they played in 2009. The team's colors were green, black and white. Their final head coach was Rod Underwood. History The Cleveland City Stars were founded in 2006 as a member of the USL Second Division and played their inaugural season in 2007. The team found success early on, going undefeated for the first nine games before losing to the Charlotte Eagles in the tenth game of the season. Middlefield Cheese Stadium
Bedford High School is a public school in Bedford, Ohio, southeast of Cleveland. Background Bedford High School was built in 1957, with additions in 1971, and 1994. Bedford High School is accredited by the Ohio Department of Education. Bedford High School was neighbors with St. Peter Chanel High School until Chanel High School was demolished in July 2020. With both schools winning championships in sports, The city of Bedford renamed a portion of Northfield Road the "Avenue of Champions". Both schools were under construction at the same time in the 1950s. Bedford High School was erected in 1955-57, it is built in Norman Brick-style architecture with limestone and cost $2.1 million. The Bedford Board of Education Building at 475 Northfield Road was built on the campus in 1961 and two wings were added to the high school in 1971. Ibrahim Kante
Ibrahim Kanté (born July 20, 1981, in Bamako) is a Malian soccer player, a member of the Missouri Comets, a MISL (Major Indoor Soccer League) team. Career Kante made two appearances as a rookie in 2003 with New England Revolution of Major League Soccer, before moving on to Milwaukee Wave United of the USL A-League in 2004. He played several seasons of indoor soccer with Baltimore Blast, the Kansas City Comets and the St. Louis Steamers of the Major Indoor Soccer League before signing with Crystal Palace Baltimore of the USL Second Division in 2007. Stephen Cruickshank (born September 10, 1983 in Bointcumana) is a Trinidadian soccer player, currently without a club. Career Professional Cruickshank began his professional career in Trinidad with Caledonia AIA in 2006. He first moved to the Cleveland City Stars in 2007, playing in two matches and recording 18 minutes of USL Second Division play, but missed much of the season with a high ankle sprain. Stéphane Guillaume (born February 9, 1984) is a Haitian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He spent most of his career playing in the MLS. At international level, he represented the Haiti national team. Career Club Guillaume began his professional career with Aigle Noir AC in Ligue Haïtienne, before moving to MLS team Colorado Rapids in 2005. Troy Roberts (born September 18, 1983 in San Jose, California) is a former American soccer player. Career College and Amateur Roberts attended Washington High School in Fremont, California, and played college soccer at UC Berkeley, and was named All-Pac-10 his junior and senior seasons. He also played in the National Premier Soccer League with Sonoma County Sol in its inaugural season in 2004. Joshua Boateng (born 2 January 1987) is a Ghanaian former footballer.
