Cles (german: Glöß; Nones: ''Clés'' or ''Cliès'') is a town and ''comune'' in Trentino, in the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol region of northern Italy. It is the main town of Val di Non. Bernardo Clesio
Bernardo Clesio (; 1 March 1484 – 30 July 1539) was an Italian Cardinal, bishop, diplomat, humanist and botanist. Born in Cles, in the Prince-Bishopric of Trent, today Trentino, he graduated from the University of Bologna. He later became Prince-Bishop of Trent (1514–1539) and of Brixen (1539), cardinal, and chancellor of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand I. He was a key contributor to the organization of the Council of Trent and greatly embellished and expanded Trento in the process. Tabula Clesiana
The ''Tabula clesiana'' is a bronze plate size cm. 49.9 x 37.8 x 0.61, discovered in 1869 at Campi Neri near Cles in Trentino, northern Italy. It contains the edict of the Caesar Claudius of 46 AD which granted the Roman citizenship to the Alpine peoples of the Anauni, Sinduni and Tulliasses. The Tabula is conserved at the Castello del Buonconsiglio Museum in Trento.
