Clermont County Airport is a public use airport located two nautical miles (4 km) west of the central business district of Batavia, a village in Clermont County, Ohio, United States. It is owned by the Clermont County Commissioners. It is also known as Sporty's Airport. The fixed-base operator is Eastern Cincinnati Aviation. The Tri-State Warbird Museum is located on the west side of the airport. The 279th Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol is headquartered at the airport as well. History Dedicated on 13 October 1968, the airport was managed by the husband and wife team of Randolph and Rosalie Burchett from the early 1970s through 1986. In 1971, Sporty's Pilot Shop moved from its previous location to the airport. The Clermont General and Technical College opened in 1972 on land one-half mile from the airport. Clermont County, popularly called Clermont ( ), is a county in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 208,601. Withamsville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pierce and Union townships of Clermont County, Ohio, United States. The population was 7,021 at the 2010 census. History A post office called Withamsville was established in 1828, and remained in operation until 1923. The community was named for Rev. Maurice Witham, a pioneer who settled there around 1800. Avid Flyer
The Avid Flyer is a family of American single engine, high-wing, strut-braced, conventional landing gear-equipped, two seat ultralight aircraft designed for kit construction in the 1980s. Its several variants sold in large numbers. In 1987 a Flyer became the first ultralight to land at the North Pole. The family includes the original American Aviation AA-1 Yankee and AA-1A Trainer, the Grumman American AA-1B Trainer and TR-2, plus the Gulfstream American AA-1C Lynx and T-Cat. Mooney Cadet
The Mooney M10 Cadet is a light airplane manufactured by the Mooney Aircraft Company in 1969 and 1970. The M10 is derived from the ERCO Ercoupe, the type certificates for which Mooney purchased from the Alon Corporation in 1967. Design The M10 is similar to the Alon A2-A, and indeed a handful of "Mooney A2-As" were built in Kerrville in 1968 before changeover of Mooney's production line was completed. According to the FAA Type Certificate Data Sheet, the ''"Model 10 is similar to Model A2-A except for new design empennage, ailerons and fuel tank vent."''
