Cleopatra Madonna Higgins, better known as Cleo Higgins, is a British R&B/soul/pop singer, dancer andsongwriter based in Manchester, England. Higgins is the lead singer of the eponymously named sister girl group, Cleopatra. Music career Early career In 2000, Higgins branched out from Cleopatra and recorded two duets with tenor Russell Watson. The first song, "Someone Like You" was featured on Watson's multi-platinum debut album ''The Voice'', which climbed to No. 1 on the U.S. classical charts. "For Your Eyes Only" is the theme to the 12th James Bond movie of the same name, written by Bill Conti and Mick Leeson, and performed by Scottish singer Sheena Easton. The song reached number four on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and number eight on the UK Singles Chart. It was nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards in 1982. Background Conti – who was also responsible for the film's score – had originally written the song thinking about Donna Summer or Dusty Springfield, singers he thought "fit the Bond style". Film studio United Artists suggested Sheena Easton, an up-and-coming singer who had recently scored a No.1 hit in America with " Morning Train". Conti heard Easton's debut album ''Take My Time'' and felt unimpressed but decided to work with her in the song after meeting Easton in person. ''The Voice UK'' is a British television music competition to find new singing talent. The second series was hosted by Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates on BBC One and started on 30 March 2013. On 13 November 2012, it was confirmed that all four coaches from last year would return. The show's Blind Auditions moved to dock10, MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester. It was also confirmed that the live show format would be tweaked for this series, which included the cutback from six live shows in the first series to only three live shows, and the pre-recorded results show had also been dropped, with the results given on the same night as the performances. Girls Aloud were an pop girl group that was created through the ITV talent show '' Popstars: The Rivals'' in 2002.
