Clayton Village is an unincorporated community located near U.S. Route 82 in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi Mississippi () is a state in the Southeastern region of the United States, bordered to the north by Tennessee; to the east by Alabama; to the south by the Gulf of Mexico; to the southwest by Louisiana; and to the northwest by Arkansas. Miss ..., near Starkville and approximately south-southwest of Osborn. Clayton Village was named after Edgar Pomeroy Clayton, former owner of The Guntown Hottimes, a weekly newspaper. He was Superintendent of Education for Lee County from 1908 to 1914 and was head of the Poultry Department at Mississippi A & M College (now Mississippi State University) from 1924 to 1927. Oktibbeha County is a county in the east central portion of the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2020 census the population was 51,788. The county seat is Starkville. The county's name is derived from a local Native American word meaning either "bloody water" or "icy creek".
