Clawddnewydd is a village in the community of Derwen, Denbighshire. The village has a community centre (Canolfan Cae Cymro), a shop (Siop y Fro) and a pub (Glan Llyn) all owned and run by the villagers. Cae Cymro is the name of the field adjoining the community centre, where Clawddnewydd FC play their Llandyrnog and District Summer League home fixtures. The Clawddnewydd telephone exchange in the village used to have its own area code (08245) until numbers were changed and it became part of the new Ruthin area code (01824). Derwen
Derwen is a rural village in the south of Denbighshire, Wales. It lies approximately halfway between Corwen and Ruthin, in the upper part of Dyffryn Clwyd on the north side of the River Clwyd, opposite the village of Bryn Saith Marchog. The population of the community as taken at the 2011 census was 426. The community includes the village of Clawddnewydd. An old Celtic Cross stands in the village, near the church, dating from the early middle ages. There is also the Grade II Ffynnon Sara. Denbighshire
Denbighshire ( ; cy, Sir Ddinbych; ) is a county in the north-east of Wales. Its borders differ from the historic county of the same name. Llandyrnog And District Summer League
Llandyrnog is a large village and community in Denbighshire, Wales lying in the valley of the River Clwyd, about from Denbigh and from Ruthin. The village has good road links to Denbigh and the main A541 road at Bodfari, and is served by buses number 76 and 53. The village contains the Church of St. Tyrnog's is a Grade II* listed building, and has a notable creamery on the outskirts and former hospital. The community includes the settlements of Waen, Ffordd-las and Llangwyfan. Landmarks The Church of St. Tyrnog's, a small Welsh-language chapel, is a Grade II* listed building in the village. The church was first mentioned in 1254, though the current building dates to the late 15th century. Llanelidan
Llanelidan is a small village and community in the county of Denbighshire in north-east Wales. The community also includes the hamlet of Rhyd-y-Meudwy. The church, village hall and pub all lie within 200 yards of each other overlooking the village cricket ground and pavilion. Also in the village centre is King George's field, this is land legally protected by the Fields in Trust Charity, and is free for use by anyone. Public space in the village includes the Village Green. A494 Road
The A494 is a trunk road in Wales and England. The route, which is officially known as the Dolgellau to South of Birkenhead Trunk Road, runs between the terminus of the M56 motorway between Mollington, Cheshire, Mollington and Capenhurst and the A470 road, A470 at Dolgellau, Gwynedd. Its northern sections remain among the busiest roads in Wales. History The original routes into North Wales meant using Ford (crossing), fords when the Dee estuary was at low tide north west of Chester.
