Claude Rolin
Claude Rolin (born 26 May 1957 in Charleroi) is a Belgian politician, who has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2014, representing the Belgian French-speaking electoral college. He is a member of the Humanist Democratic Centre (cdH), which sits in the EPP Group. Rolin comes from Bertrix, in Belgian Luxembourg. Prior to being MEP, Rolin was secretary of the Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (ACV/CSC). A Member of the European Parliament (MEP) is a person who has been elected to serve as a popular representative in the European Parliament. French-speaking Electoral College
The French-speaking electoral college is one of three constituencies of the European Parliament in Belgium. It currently elects 8 MEPs using the D'Hondt method of party-list proportional representation. It elected 9 MEPs until the 2007 accession of Bulgaria and Romania. Prior to the 1999 elections, electors in the German-speaking community were voting in the French-speaking electoral college, along with the rest of the Walloon region where they are located; they vote now in their own German-speaking electoral college. Humanist Democratic Centre (french: Centre Démocrate Humaniste, CDH) was a Christian democratic and centrist French-speaking political party in Belgium. The party originated in the split in 1972 of the unitary Christian Social Party (PSC-CVP) which had been the country's governing party for much of the post-war period. It continued to be called the Christian Social Party (french: Parti Social Chrétien, PSC) until 2002 when it was renamed the Humanist Democratic Centre. It was refounded as Les Engagés in 2022. Bertrix
Bertrix (; wa, Bietris) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. On 1 January 2007 the municipality, which covers 137.7 km², had 8,164 inhabitants, giving a population density of 59.3 inhabitants per km². Bertrix is home to the NATO reserve Jehonville Air Base.
