Claude Michy
Claude Michy, born 3 April 1949 in Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme), is the President of the Clermontois football club Clermont Foot Auvergne 63, since 2005. He is also the creator and president of PHA Claude Michy Manager since 1994, and organises numerous sporting events, including motor races such as the French motorcycle Grand Prix. Football He has been the president of Clermont Foot Auvergne 63 since June 2005. Since his return to the club, he has also benefitted from the help of his friend Francis Graille, former President of LOSC and Paris-Saint-Germain. When he arrived, the club had been relegated to the National, but was returned to Ligue 2 due to the financial failure of ASOA Valence. Claude Michy appointed Dominique Bijotat to take over the first team, but after only a few days, he moved on to FC Sochaux. Vulcania
Vulcania, the "European Park of Volcanism", is an educational French amusement park and museum with a volcano theme. Situated in Saint-Ours-les-Roches, Auvergne, 15 km north-west of Clermont-Ferrand, it was officially inaugurated in 2002. History The project was the brainchild of French volcanologist, Maurice Krafft, who died at Mount Unzen in 1991. Krafft and his work had a great impact on the former President of France, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, who pushed for the construction of the park while he was President of the Regional Council of Auvergne. Criticism The project has faced criticism from its very inception. The strong involvement of the former president added a political dimension to the economic, technical and environmental issues. Mahyar Monshipour ( fa, مهیار منشیپور; born 21 March 1975 in Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian-born French boxer who was the World Boxing Association's super bantamweight champion for nearly three years between 2003 and 2006. Super Besse is a winter sports resort located in Massif Central, France. Geography Super Besse located in the commune of Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise (''Parc naturel régional des volcans d'Auvergne'' in the department of Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne). The Andros Trophy (''Trophée Andros'') is the French national ice racing championship. History The idea of an ice racing series first became an idea when professional racer Max Mamers (French Rallycross Champion 1982 and 1983 with Talbot Matra Murena) and the owner of the ''Andros'' company (jam and compote producers), Frédéric Gervoson, met as rugby fans in 1985. They spent the winter racing with friends on ice circuits. On 27 January 1990, the idea of a series came to life at Serre Chevalier with the first round of four. The series quickly grew, with a round at Paris (Pelouse de Reuilly) in 1991 creating a five round series; and a seven round championship in 1992.
