Clarenville Caribous
The Clarenville Caribous (also commonly known as the Clarenville Ford Caribous due to an ongoing sponsorship deal announced September 23, 2015) are a senior ice hockey team based in Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador and a member of the Central West Senior Hockey League. The Caribous are three-time winners of the Herder Memorial Trophy as all-Newfoundland and Labrador Senior Hockey Champions and winners of the 2011 Allan Cup as National Senior "AAA" Hockey Champions. History The Caribous broke into the WCSHL in 2006-2007, ending the season in last place with 18 points. However, in the very next season in 2007-2008 they shot past the other three teams, ending the season in first place with 30 points. They also went on to beat the Corner Brook Royals in the first round of the playoffs, only to be defeated by the Deer Lake Red Wings in the next. A very big improvement for one year. Clarenville, Newfoundland And Labrador
Clarenville is a town on the east coast of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Clarenville was incorporated in 1951. It is located in the Shoal Harbour valley, fronting an arm of the Atlantic Ocean called Random Sound. The town grew in importance after it became a junction on the Newfoundland Railway, where a branch line to the Bonavista Peninsula left the main line. The 2014 Allan Cup was the Canadian championship of senior ice hockey. This was the 106th year the Allan Cup was awarded. The tournament was contended in Dundas, Ontario from April 14 to April 19, 2014 and hosted by the Dundas Real McCoys of the Ontario Hockey Federation. The Real McCoys went a perfect 4–0 in the tournament and defeated the Clarenville Caribous 3–2 in overtime in the championship game to win their first Allan Cup. Red Deer is a city in Alberta, Canada, located midway on the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor. The Newfoundland Senior Hockey League (NSHL) was a senior ice hockey league in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada founded in 2011. The NSHL operated for three seasons from 2011–2012 to 2013–2014. The league competed for the Herder Memorial Trophy and its teams were eligible for the Allan Cup playoffs. The West Coast Senior Hockey League (WCSHL) was a senior ice hockey league with teams based in Newfoundland and Labrador. The WCSHL was founded in 1996 as a senior B intermediate league and developed into a senior A league. It operated until the summer of 2011 when the WCSHL merged with the Avalon East Senior Hockey League to form the Newfoundland Senior Hockey League. Bentley Generals
The Lacombe Generals were a Senior AAA ice hockey team from Lacombe, Alberta, Canada that played in the Chinook Hockey League. The Generals are four-time national champions, having won the Allan Cup in 2009 and 2016 in Steinbach, Manitoba, and in 2013 in Red Deer, Alberta and in Lacombe, Alberta 2019. The club was formerly known as the Bentley Generals from 1999–2016, and played out of the Bentley Arena in Bentley, Alberta, as well as the Red Deer Arena. The team folded in 2019 due to concerns with the organization of senior hockey in Canada. History The Bentley Generals hockey club was formed in 1999 and began play in the Chinook Hockey League.
