Clarendon is a rural locality in the Somerset Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Clarendon had a population of 244 people. Geography The locality takes its name from Lake Clarendon (approx to the south-west). Lockyer Creek enters the locality from the south-west ( Mount Tarampa / Rifle Range) and forms part of the southern boundary of the locality. The creek then passes through the locality and then forms its northern, north-eastern, and eastern boundaries before exiting to the south-east ( Patrick Estate / Lowood). History Clarendon railway station is an abandoned railway station on the dismantled Brisbane Valley railway line (). Clarendon railway station was in use from 1886 to 1995 (it was called Tarampa railway station initially but was renamed). Lockyer Creek Provisional School opened circa 1891. The Somerset Region is a local government area located in the West Moreton region of South East Queensland, Australia, about northwest of Brisbane and centred on the town of Esk. It was created in 2008 from a merger of the Shire of Esk and the Shire of Kilcoy. Lake Clarendon
The Lake Clarendon Dam is a rock and earth-fill embankment dam with an un-gated spillway located off-stream in the locality of Lake Clarendon in the Lockyer Valley Region, South East Queensland, Australia. The main purpose of the dam is for irrigation of the Lockyer Valley. The resultant impounded reservoir is called Lake Clarendon.
